Massive BBC headlines. But, nowhere in the article does it identify who the major slavers are. I wonder why. Another example of the U.K. transforming and becoming more like another part of the world? the long, whitewashed article can be found here: http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-40885353
Is it any ****ing wonder the world's criminals are flocking here - they have zero fear of the consequences of their activities. And I'd guess the authorities of law and order in those countries are only too happy to help them on their way. Our poor country is now well and truly ****ed!
I was listening to the radio here yesterday (sorry Australia) and same thing. Sad examples of farmers here using what is just about indentured labour from PNG and the South Pacific. Almost a return to the days when our farmers did what they called "Blackbirding". It's still happening. And it's not isolated to particular ethnic or cultural groups.
That's more a different type of thing, although it could sort of fall under the category of slavery. I imagine though those people are free to leave back to their countries any time they want, if they could come up with the money for the airfare. It's virtual slavery, to be sure, certainly exploitation, but not quite real slavery.
Look stop criticizing our police - they're 'taking this kind of thing extremely seriously'. (that's their corporate message lol) Two days ago there were photos in the national press of police in uniform driving around at a fairground bumper-car ride . . . what follows is another photo, to give non-Brits an idea of how pointless and dumb they are: "Officers parade around in bear costumes, paint their nails 'to fight slavery' and wear high heels to 'highlight domestic violence' - while crime statistics SOAR" And to prove it . . . I'm listening to Today and there's a senior plod officer being interviewed about 'the 90% police failure rate'. Along with all the other positive spin and various rebuttals I'm waiting for her to say 'Crime isn't rising, it's being reported more than it used to be so that makes it seem as if it is.' A 90% failure? Bloody hell, even I didn't think it was that high! We might as well get rid of them for all the good they do. Here's a link to prove how bloody useless they are - https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...rate-in-england-and-wales-police-figures-show
It seems that our liberal friends find it perfectly acceptable that incomers can be ruthlessly exploited by unscrupulous employers paying them slave wages.
To be honest... This thread's title alone has me thinking about my own life today, and helps me stay strong so I don't go running back to my former slave master. It is hard, for real, there's a fine line between love and war and war and peace and appeasement and control and, IDK, it is hard, this thread title reminds me of the reality of life in Britain today. For me, it's hard but it's right. To stay the course and not get wrapped up in their brew ha ha again after the opportunity rose itself this week.
The major slavers and the girls are mostly eastern european. We have even had pop up brothels in Newquay Cornwall. Not the answer you wanted?
My missus bless her works in a rather busy NHS establishment and at the begining of every week or so the police liason officer emails over a batch of incident numbers with the corresponding details sections left blank. She or her colleauges simply fill in the details etc. and at the end of the week or when they need new numbers they email it back and get the next sequence.
Ah **** yeah.... I remember reading somat like that weren't the police getting all a bit precious about stag parties of something?
Yeah, that and drunken students falling off cliffs when they came down after exams! One woman started a campaign to get fences around the cliffs, apparently if you get pissed and try climbing a cliff, it is the towns fault when you fall off, who knew!
I guess cliff should by public liability insurance.... Ooops I think we're getting a bit off topic... back to slavery and the modern manifestation of being bloody stupid
'the reality of life in Britain'? I'd put it like this, and The Scotsman's comment on the NHS prompts it . . . if Britain were a patient in a hospital, it'd be described by the staff as 'having lost the will to live'. The adults have been infantilised by the popular tv channels, and just like infants they don't perceive that their minds are being played with, and our kids have lost their way morally and in the sense of the expectation of a reasonable future. Bureaucrats are destroying this country, and it's only a matter of time . . .
That reminds me of when my sister had to go to an A&E a few months ago on a seriously urgent matter; after about 3 hours in the waiting queue (she should have been triaged straight away because it was a chemotherapy matter) there was a sudden disturbance in the near distance which quickly got louder until some piece of scum burst into the waiting room being chased by 2 police and a hospital staff security guard (yes, we need guards to stop our nurses from being attacked!): this was in the early hours of the morning, and she'd already been 'skipped over' when a drunk was brought in and prioritised because he was bleeding - and the tattoo'd scum previously mentioned was laughing his head off as he ran around the crowded waiting room, and in and out of the rows of those who were waiting, dodging his pursuers. It was total chaos, and it can probably be imagined the distress my sister and brother-in-law underwent? And to think this kind of **** is happening nearly all the time somewhere or other? I wrote to my MP for all the ****ing good it did! I weep for my country, I really do, and I sincerely hope that those who have been responsible for bringing it down to this all need chemotherapy themselves one day, and one day soon.
Well I will refrain from wishing you have chemotherapy, even though you are clearly one of those who has destroyed my country.
Its strange to me in a weird sort of way; I live in the Medway towns in Kent which is a melting pot of all sorts of ethnic mixes and social classes and religious backgrounds its run down its falling apart, bursting at the seams, its down on its knees. I inhabit a different world. I leave the Medway towns every morning at 7 o'clock and commute to London and the heart of the most middle/upper class bastion of traditional white values you can imagine, I trade insurance in Lloyd's of London inhabited by wealthy mostly white and well educated, affluent people. Its a million miles from what most people can imagine. To some extent I think its people like me that are the issue. I am disconnected from reality, disconnected from what I think is going on in this country. I sit and moan at what is happening in the land, at the decay and the misery people have to put up with and the type of poeple we have become. However, my lifeline from that disconnect is the missus (bless here). She told me the other day that a liitle old lady pottered up to where she works on her mobility scooter and in order not to block the corridors or create a fuss she'd park the thing outside the door. About half an hour later this young lad appears at the desk clearly strung out beyond reality asking if his methadone was ready which it wasnt' at which point he starts to get a bit scared (not agressive or anything like that just scared and edgy) anyway he goes out the door to leave but suddenly pops back in and tells my missus (bless her) that some old buffer on a mobility scooter is tying a rope round a [the old lasses] mobility scooter and trying to tow it away. The issue is that although she knows its not his she can't do anything because she doesn't know who the guy is, if he has permission to take it or if he's a husband or friend. When she confronts him he doesn't talk just carries on. She phones the police who ask if a crime has been reported which it hasn't because the old lass has dissappeared into the hubbub of the clinic and can't be contacted so they basically give her the gallic shrug. Anyway the druggy guy gives her his mobile number and says that he'll follow this geezer and when the old lass comes back give him a call and tell him what the situation is. Anyway, t'old lass comes back my missus tells her whats happened she gets distressed; its clearly been nicked by this old buffer and because she knows from previous experience that phoning the police is a much use as talking to a kettle she calls this druggy on his phone half expecting him not to bother replying. Anyway long story short she gets hold of this young fella on his mobbile who knows where the thing is and will liberate and bring it back. Half an hour later the lad putters back on the scooter and gives it back to the old lass. Back to the disconnect... again my missus (bless here) tells me that by far the worst sort of people that come in to her establishement are types like me, the worst being what she calls the "Mercedes mums", those middle class, white, much too busy to wait women with kids; they pitch up and complain about the lack of parking, the fact that they have to pay for parking, why are there delays, why can't they have their prescriptions now, why are their doctors appointments always late, why is the grass green... I moan about this country and where its going but then I'm told I'm not looking at the right things. If you look back is it any better or worse now? I'm not sure. I remember the likes of Red robbo, Scargill, Benda Dean, Grunwick, bins not being cleared from the streets and the hospitals were still full in those days because of unions and strikes.. lights going out. I don't think looking back through rose tinted glasses is the way anymore.
I don't look at it like that, I look at it as - just because it was crap then is no excuse for it being crap now? I mean aren't we supposed to learn where we went wrong, and ensure we change our ways for the benefit of all of society? In fact it's worse now. For one thing (and I'm running short of time) I've never known a time where nursing/care homes and special needs institutions for disabled etc. staffed by the young and able-bodied who go out of their way to abuse their unfortunates they're supposed to be caring for, and protecting them in the varied ways. And as with your wife - for how many years have we heard weasel words from politicians about protecting nurses from violence but it still goes on - probably every weekend if the truth's known. And the infantile conduct of crowds and players of the various sports, where the players kiss and cuddle and high-5 like children, and the spectators are also acting like children; I never ever thought I'd see adults, repeat adults painting their faces fcs! Even the police are dumb, and can't be replied upon? These things might sound like hobby-horse riding, but to me they're ominous. Add to the the fact that bureaucrats are indolent and stupid and I worry about what's around the corner for us and our kids and grandkids. I wish that I didn't think so much. Actually I wish I had time to touch upon a couple of other things but I don't. 'Scuse any typos - gorra go.
You're falling into a stereotype view of soundbites. Take the vast majority of care homes and you will find overworked dedicated people doing their best for those in their charge. Sure you can link articles that show carers that have hit old folk or nicked their bits and bob but those are isolated incidents and not representative of the norm. This is what pigs me off... the doing down of people who are trying to help, trying to make things better and because some bellend thinks he can get away with it it tars the rest of those that are trying to do an honest days graft. Bollox to that! As for footballers who give a monkey's what they do, let suck each other off on the pitch if they feel the need! Do you remember the Inter-city club in the 70s, those Chelsea morons (and all the other bozos) that used to arrange fights in car parks at the motorway stops; herds of dickheads beating 7 bells out of each other...I'd rather them acting like children now than the thugs we had. Don't get me wrong I know what you mean..... Personally I think its just the job.... it isn't about the people its about politicians having their snout in the trough 'I say biffy old chap just tell em what they want to hear' keep on message and keep voting for me 'coz its a damned fine wheeze here in parliament old chap and keeps the mem'sahib off me mashyniblicks'. The last politicians I any had time for were the likes of Thatcher and Benn forget about what stripes they had, that's not the point. They were intelligent and principled and they had the courage to speak up for what they thought was right not what they thought would get them elected. Look at that tosser Cameron, a vacuous man with no real convictions other than having been schooled for the PM job. I agree its the lack of vision our leaders suffer from, the inability or failure or lack of will to act on their convictions and argue them in front of a crowd. Like him or hate him the only one I can really listen to is Farage. Anyway off you trot....
