    More interesting information.

    Snip…

More data from observational studies, this time in hospitalized patients, indicated that famotidine (Pepcid AC), which is used to treat heartburn, was associated with improved clinical outcomes in COVID-19 patients.

It's little wonder that vaccines were found so quickly. This disease is seemingly cured by nearly anything. (Or is if we listen to Trumpers, then again by Trumper's lights nobody was ever really sick and no one but patients poisoned by Democrats actually died, nothing bad is possible in Trumptopia. )

In doing some reading on the news, I found this:

Five studies including 36,635 subjects were included. We found that famotidine use was associated with a statistically non-significant reduced risk of progression to severe disease, death, and intubation for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients (pooled RR was 0.82, 95% CI = 0.52–1.30, P = 0.40).

    Conclusion
Famotidine has no significant protective effect in reducing the risk of developing serious illness, death, and intubation for COVID-19 patients. More original studies are needed to further clarify whether it is associated with reduced risk of the severity, death, and intubation for COVID-19 patients.

I'm all for finding new ways to treat covid - I could care less who it comes from, it would just be great to find an inexpensive way to help people. But the jury is out on this one.

The reason a vaccine was created so quickly is because this is a coronavirus and there were already several coronavirus vaccines in existence. The current vaccines simply needed to be altered to fight the different characteristics of this specific coronavirus.

I haven't seen anyone claim "nobody was ever really sick." What some are saying is that the virus didn't justify the abuse of power perpetrated by government.

Not really accurate. They were created so quickly because the mRNA vaccine has been under study since 2014 at least. The whole idea of the mRNA vaccine is to have a vaccine that can be quickly adjusted to fit any virus.

My comment was accurate. The vaccines could be created so quickly because they were already in a development stage and just needed to altered to combat characteristics of this particular coronavirus.

If you get vaccinated you don't need snake oil remedies.

You can still contract and spread the virus after getting the experimental treatment. You also have a very small percent of risk from Covid.

Known prophylactic's are not 'snake oil'. That's just anti-medicine.

Correct, they had been in development stage for more than a half a decade. Otherwise we would still be waiting.

It would be totally awesome if you could offer details about the "several coronavirus vaccines in existence". My bet is that is a grossly inaccurate statement you just made.

BTW, if you like dictionaries and definitions (you may not) the current shots are not vaccines.

Is this not old news? I recall hearing or reading about this a few months after COVID was in China.
