Four firefighters shot near Rochester in US; 2 dead

Officials say they had arrived at the scene of the blaze near the Lake Ontario shore around 6 a.m.

The Canadian Press December 24, 2012 7:40 am

WEBSTER, NY (NEWS1130) – The police chief in a New York State town says that four firefighters were shot while responding to a blaze in the town and that two are dead.

Chief Gerald Pickering says “one or more shooters” fired at the firefighters Monday morning. Officials say they had arrived at the scene of the blaze near the Lake Ontario shore around 6 a.m.

Officials say a fire started in one home and spread to two others and a car. Officials say there is no active shooter at the scene.

****No one's safe from the carnage, not even first responders. I wonder what the NRA will say about this? Armed guards for fire fighters?******

Fire fighters should have had AR-15s with high capacity magazines. They should run into burning buildings with tons of bullets in their pockets.

    From the FBI site:

In 2011, an estimated 14,612 persons were murdered in the United States. This was a 0.7 percent decrease from the 2010 estimate, a 14.7 percent decline from the 2007 figure, and a 10.0 percent decrease from the 2002 estimate.
There were 4.7 murders per 100,000 inhabitants, a 1.5 percent decrease from the 2010 rate. Compared with the 2007 rate, the murder rate declined 17.4 percent, and compared with the 2002 rate, the murder rate decreased 16.8 percent. (See Tables 1 and 1A.)

    http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/uc...1/crime-in-the-u.s.-2011/violent-crime/murder

Hm... a steady decrease in murders and murder rate over the last 5 years or so... I wonder why's that? Certainly not because there are less guns in the hands of citizens, eh? Gun ownership is going through the roof since Obama was erected into the White House... Could it be exactly because more people own guns, the murder rate goes down? Think Liberals, think...

The NRA is an organization that staunchly protects individual constitutional rights and liberties, and educates to proper gun handling and safety.

Saying the NRA "supports" deaths caused by criminal or negligent individuals with guns...

is akin to saying medical professional associations, physician lobby groups, and medical schools "support" the 120,000 deaths a year that are caused by the negligence of individual doctors.

Lock them freaks up, and trow away the keys. And the children will be safe. What a novel concept, is not it?

It'll get worse before it gets better ... dear leader LaPierre has called on Congress to arm schools *intermigled* with some bizzare notion of calling on Congress to *legislate morality* ...

Guess you can make up anything you want with that one .. I suspect he'll clarify that one up when he emerges from NRA bunkers upon the next massacre ...

The NRA has only ranted and raved at conventions ... and of course hosting a GOP candidate ... Romney ... at a major presidential campaign .... all in hysteria of the impending communist-will of Obama to take away your guns ... and they stopped making personal appearences at massacre-sites way way back with Heston at Littleton/Columbine ... and have only issued statements now upon every massacre more or less reminding you that they too have broken hearts ...

What's with LaPierre making 2 appearences in a row all of a sudden ?

LOL, Oh because I thought in this county the people vote, not superficial entities.

If the NRA has the power you claim, the people gave it to them.

Are there any lobbys you support that someone else might not agree with or are they all bad?

No one is blaming the teachers, but if there had been an armed police officer, or security guard, or personnel trained to use a firearm, it's possible the tragedy could have been lessened.

Depends on what a murder is ... is ... say for instance, the NRA wants you believe Zimmerman and Dunn are innocent of murder because they fall into the NRA self-defense as Stand Your Ground Law ... and these are only handgun deaths ...

The mass-executions of Kindergartners with the symbol of NRA/Tea Party liberty & freedom ... the AR-15 .... ushers-in a whole new definiton and concept of what a murder is ... is ..

Whatever my stance is on gun control, this is outrageous. It comes as no surprise, tho. As society collapses, more unarmed people will die. But, firemen?? Really?? Somebody had planned this out. There might have been murder in mind when the blaze was set. I do not condone such actions and these murderers need to be brought to justice. 30ft of rope apiece sounds about right.......

The difference is in only your imagination, my friend. There's no friggin difference how person dies, being shot from Desert Eagle or from AR-15. The difference is in your imagination - no-one talks about crash of a 4-seater Cessna, and everyone talks about crash of Boing 747. the underling reasons for the crash maybe the same, but your imagination may be playing tricks on you, telling you the reasons for Boing crash are different.

Why do you care what the NRA thinks? Why do you use it as an argument?

Address thier argument, and have your own.

I'm with you ... for some reason the NRA CEO needs to *surrender his right to remain silent* ... and reassure America publically that in fact right-wing-hate media is correct that any murders committed ... is in fact due to a Godless Lib society that now requires *morality to be legislated* ...

Has nothing to do with the .... what did dear leader LaPierre call them ? .... oh ... *tools* .... that is the reason for NRA existence ...

If guns are bad we can talk about that, if you keep blaming it on the NRA you won't get anywhere.

    Read your posts.

    BLAME, BLAME, BLAME.

The NRA supports the murder of firefighters? Does progressive hysteria know no bounds?

If fire arms are so bad, why does obama use them to protect his girls at sidwell along with the political and media elites like Gregory and Stephenopoulis (SP)? If armed security is good enough for them then its good enough for my kids and us tax payers should pay for it immediately.
