WASHINGTON, D.C. -- "The percentage of Americans who believe having a gun in the house makes it a safer place to be (63%) has nearly doubled since 2000, when about one in three agreed with this. Three in 10 Americans say having a gun in the house makes it a more dangerous place."

Americans also say that more concealed carry would make us safer

"A majority of Americans, 56%, believe that if more Americans carried concealed weapons after passing a criminal background check and training course, the country would be safer."

Since violent crime, especially gun-related violent crime is -so- terrible that the President has to issue executive orders in an effort to hold back the rivers of blood, it only makes sense that law-abiding citizens obtain a firearm for their own defense.

After all, the police clearly are more interested in shooting innocent black babies than protecting the citizenry in general.

I support the right to own guns.

For 10 years, my photo lab processed crime scene photos for local LEO departments. I saw numerous suicides by gun, domestic violence and shootings by guns. Even two very tragic children being shot accidentally by siblings. In all that time, I only saw one home defense with gun case.

Statistically, it is impossible to prove that homes with guns are safer, one can only make suppositions that it is so and statistically, they are not.

Again, I support the right to own guns, but this Hollywood idea that guns are a panacea to violence is pure BS.

I do not own a gun, never have, but I feel a criminal not knowing if I do or not makes my home safer......so I 100% support the 2nd and the right of everyone to own a gun

and yes, ex-felons and people with mental issues should have the right to protect their homes and families with a gun to if they wish

Call it Hollywood BS if you want, but here are over 600 pages of successful defensive uses with firearms. Each story can be verified by going to the local news story.
I bet these people don't think it's BS.

Let's not pass on the chance to mention that the CDC admits that somewhere between 500,000 and 3 million times a year, a Citizen uses a firearm to foil crime, without firing a shot. Non-destructive crime prevention is a good thing.

Facts support this, more guns equal less gun violence.
Anyone wish to take me on, be my guest but prepare to be decimated with facts.

One of obamas executive orders after sandy hook was to task a gun study to the CDC. That was their finding.

when a criminal is driven away by an armed homeowner or decides not to break into a home because he is worried about being shot, how does that end up on film?

I spent 30 years as a prosecuting attorney

the vast majority of us who had to deal with criminals

    1) Judges
    2) prosecutors
    3) cops
    4) probation officers
    5) DEFENSE ATTORNEYS
    6) staff members working for JUDGES, PROSECUTORS, PROBATION OFFICERS and CRIMINAL defense attorneys

all are far more likely to carry and have guns available than other members of the public
why do you think that is?

BECAUSE we who are expert on criminals know what they are like. There are people who would kill you and your family if they thought it would net then ten dollars. There are some who would do it because its more thrilling to them than a watching a football game or getting good sex

But hey, just a suggestion, wean yourself off Demokratic Socialist talking points and start doing your home work.
Because if you won't, I'll do your homework for you, count on me being a permanent fixture here.

You said "prove it", well pal I'm from the "Show Me" state and I have a propensity for blackening eyes.

You didn't see the other 100,000 guns in your area that didn't cause a problem so I guess your problem is one of prejudice.

    Legal guns----doing the most good.
