Started tonight at Losail in Quatar. Lorenzo swiftly buggered off into the far distance but the "old guy Valentino Rossi looks like his old racing self, mixing it with the Hondas of Dani Pedrosa and new boy Mark Marquez, having seen off his team-mate Cal Crutchlow. Result: Lorenzo, Rossi, Marquez, Pedrosa Crutchlow... Vale ran out of fuel on the wind-down, and got a lift back to the paddock on his ex team-mate's Ducati!
Thanks for making me feel old. I remember back his first season in the 125cc - Virtually rode like a stunt driver
You must be still a kid, I remember Agostini! It seems like Casey Stoner can't stay away! (Or can't get on in V8 Supercars) http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2013/Stoner+set+for+Phillip+Island+return
LOL - In Australia there was virtually no coverage of European racing until Wayne Gardiner came along. Even then it was a Public Broadcast channel who covered it, and that was only at the prodding of a famous British racer who immigrated to Australia, who's name for the life of me I can not remember
I just remembered his name Barry Sheene. Fabulous commentator, and by all reports a fantastic human being
That'll be Barry Sheene. Cheeky chirpy cockerney chappie...... he was a good rider, but not as good as his larger than life persona! http://www.motorsportmagazine.com/magazine/barry-sheene-cockney-rebel/ His riding mate for the 77 season was Steve Parrish, who does the BBC commentary for MotoGP nowadays, alongside Charlie Cox. (I prefer the Eurosport coverage)
He's not actually riding in the Moto GP but along with Doohan and Gardner will be attending. BTW,, I've met Gardner a few times. The hails from my home city. Stoner has been doing a bit of testing for Honda. http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/193803/1/casey_stoner_to_test_motogp_honda.html At the present time there are no Australian Moto GP riders in the same class as the leading pack.
Been watching motogp races online The most recent event that I saw was the Japan GP with order of finish: Lorenzo Marquez Pedrosa Bautista Bradl Rossi As usual, Spain comes out on top.
