Since the 90s, Chris Matthews has been the Joe Biden of television where gaffes and outright BS are concerned. It is amazing to me he has remained employed this long, and I wonder who in the hell has his audience been all these years? So this latest gaffe is not even remotely surprising. What is surprising is that one of the five people watching MSNBC had the gumption to make a stink about it.
I don't know much about Matthews personally (don't watch MSNBC), but this really just came off to me as him trying to work in that quote "it's over." As in the D primary is over. Despite expectations from the D establishment that they could effectively counter a Bernie nom, the primary was over almost immediately with no real opposition. Just like the Nazi's into France in a little historical event you might have heard of. What was it... umm... The French Revolution.
