I wonder if the right in the country will approve of this since she is using the same excuse as Kim Davdis.

 

Loaded question, there is a similarity and a difference between this Black Muslim and Davis.

If your religious beliefs prevent you from preforming a job then you cant do that job and that is your problem and nobody else's, that's the similarity.

A private employee doesn't directly administrate the law whereas a public employee does, that's the difference.

So I can both approve and disapprove on this one and here's why.

I can easily write off this Black Muslim being fired because there is no existing standard that says a business must create special job descriptions for religious persons.

There is however an existing standard that says government employees must follow government law.

This is course brings up a glaring hypocritical element as Davis is being punished for not following the law whereas other government employees (Obama/Hillary) are not following the law either but as not being punished.

 

When this woman applied for her job did she know or was she told that serving alcohol was involved or was alcohol introduced to airliners this year?

I'm sure she accepted the job when she was asked the obligatory question: "is there anything preventing you from performing the duties as described?"

 

If you job conflicts with your religious beliefs, then quit.

Wow, you're kinda tough on her. I would say this is what the job is and remove her from all flights without pay and then tell her to apply for other jobs within the company and maybe a few strings could be pulled to get her interviewed or something. Other than that, I wouldn't outright fire her, I'd basically say this is the job and when you're ready to do it let me know. Until then you're not scheduled for any flights and if you don't get accepted for another position in the compnay and you don't come back to work in XXX days then I will consider it as job abandonment.

 

I don't know that she SHOULD be fired but if the airline decides the cost of accommodating her religious values is too costly or burdensome and they do fire her I will not object. It's their company.

No, it's giving her the a choice on whether she wants to keep her job or not. She has a job, now does she want to keep it? The choice is all hers.

 

If alcohol just got pushed into airlines and she was hired on beforehand, then yes, the right wing's consistency would lead us to support her.

Company policy...religion conflicts.....sues for religious freedom......wins so the company has to hire her and their dress code goes out the window.

 

I said job description as in the duties of the job, not the clothes you wear while doing it.

 

They do wear makeup... It's their way to bypass of sort their strict dress code. When the only thing they can show is their faces, they use it to make a statement.
