All of the SEC games will be interesting. FSU will have an interesting game in about 3 1/2 weeks.

    pfftt

the off field action is more interesting this year. What is Winston going to do next at FSU

How long will Muskrat at almost $3 million per year remain

How long will Hoke at $3.25 million per year remain

it's almost like the dead pool. Which school will cut their losses? If I were on the board of those schools I would be embarrassed for spending taxpayer, student and donor's money for no return. Sure, tv rights bring in cash as do gate sales but they'll have to buy out those contracts.

ND? (I don't have the schedule right in front of me)

I may be wrong... hope I'm not, but I just don't see ND as a real legit team.... they are "big x good" and as evidenced in that game with Bama.... Big x good does not = south good. The difference in speed they are going to see will shock them. Beating Michigan is absolutely a joke this season, and they are hanging the "we're good" argument on beating UM 31-0.

Beating FSU at FSU will be their test..... I just don't think they are really that good. Average team at best .... doesn't mean they can't beat us if we aren't ready, but so long as Jameis is there.... we should win by 3 scores.

The UF UT game will be interesting. If UT wins.... muschamp may be gone.

so, I'm all for UF winning so they can't justify cutting him. The longer Muschamp stays at UF, the better for FSU fans.... lol

I love how UF alumn like Emmit Smith is calling for Driskell to be benched.... like the person taking snaps is the problem.

The real problem is UF hasn't actually coached a qb since Tebow left. it's like they expect everyone under center to just be naturally talented enough to win. Those kids exist, but they aren't recruitting them either.

Brantley was a good qb, that noone coached, or adjusted the offense to suit his strengths (which wasn't the Tebow wildcat offense). UF fans hated him and couldn't wait for him to leave. Enter Driskell. and now, they hate him and can't wait til he's gone.

So unless something changes at QB coaching.... the next QB is going to get blamed, too.

but I love watching it implode, like I did when Miami imploded

I never meant to imply that Notre Dame is a powerhouse of college football. It's just the closest that FSU will come to playing a quality team during the regular season.

    agreed....

I'm nervous about Louisville over the next few seasons. I know they lost already to a crap team.... but Louisville will emerge as a contender in the ACC eventually. Their coach... although morally questionable, is a good x's and o's coach.

of course, they are in the already deep Atlantic side of the conference with FSU and Clemson.... The coastal is still garbage....full of teams that USED to be good.

I never could figure out which side is "Coastal" and which side is "Atlantic".
As for Clemson, Georgia beat the wheels off of them without Aaron Murray. It wasn't even close.

I honestly can't either... I have a basic knowledge of who's on which side, but I wouldn't have been able to name the side we were on. I had to google it. lol

as far as Clemson game. it was 21-21 to Ga with about 2 minutes left.... a ga score, an pic 6, and clemson layed an egg. They always do if a big play happens against them.

after the pic 6, they were going through the motions and Ga scored again, and was scored a 4th time but it got called back for holding, then GA just took a knee.

Blow out.... well, depends on how you look at it. Take away the one turnover at 2 minutes.... and it's possibly an overtime game.. with the turnover, it turns into what looks like a blowout.....

Was it really a blowout though? I know the SEC will say it, but since GA has already lost since then.... it's all a moot point.

Sounds like you only watched the first half of the game. We play 4 quarters here in the SEC.
    45 to 21 is a blowout.

21-21 with 2 minutes says it was a tight game, minus 3 plays all at once....

But either way, they pulled a clemson. I seriously think they will be a 2 loss team at the end of the season, going into bowl games...

But it never was 21-21 with 2 minutes left.

They've already lost 2 and they haven't played South Carolina yet.

I see it, they dang sure pulled a clemson in the 4th when they were only down by 3 with 10 minutes to go.

I don't think sc can beat them. But who knows.... they never play SC well.

Dabo's not a bad coach, but he doesn't have the roster to compete this year. Every game stands alone, but UGA>Clemson & SC>UGA does not equal Clemson>SC.

    oh I agree.

    last year

    Clemson>GA>SC>Clemson

Personally, I think all 3 are average, at best.... but they will make for some good games to watch

My own personal bias aside (and I am aware of my own bias), I can understand Alabama getting a high preseason ranking this year based upon their recent history and their incoming recruits. I didn't understand either Clemson, South Carolina or Georgia being ranked highly in the preseason. All four teams lost premiere quarterbacks and key skill players on offense and had to replace several outstanding defensive players from last year.

That's what I'm screaming with LSU.... they lost a TON of quality players on a team that had 5 losses.... yet, somehow, they manage to be ranked #13 preseason?

I'm less upset over Bama jumping OU and AU in preseason than the LSU crap....

LSU has been consistently good under Les Miles. Their only losses last year were to Bama, Ole Miss and Georgia. The games with Georgia and Ole Miss were both very close contests. Les is a strange character, but you have to respect the job he's done.

LSU also beat Auburn 35-21 last year.

but there are expectations laid at the feet of a few schools

Until it was revealed that Ohio State benefited from a weak schedule, people thought they were a powerhouse and always were in the discussions.

But, LSU, Bama, GA and SC are always scrutinized. You look to GA and SC to be 10 win teams

You expect LSU and Bama to be in title talks each year.

Oregon is now in those talks as well. Let's see if FSU is there next year.

So, to field a 10-win team is viewed as a failure for those teams.

Does anyone really want to watch A+M or Oregon throw 60-70 points against a low level team? We are so focused on an undefeated season vs a team which can survive real battles and maybe lose a tough game.

Why I prefer college over NFL is that these are kids. Many hope to make it to the NFL but most won't. They aren't fully refined and sometimes make bonehead decisions and the coaches use trick plays. It's unpredictable as opposed to watching the play calling from most NFL teams.

the tough game crap is garbage.... Last year, when GA lost "a tough game" to clemson... it was ok.... until FSU trounced Clemson, and suddenly, it was "clemson isn't good"

Ga beats Clemson this year, and it's a quality win, but FSU .... with a backup qb.... has a tough game win against Clemson.... suddenly, "tough games" isn't important because "FSU should have killed them" well, I agree, with Jameis, we may could have

this is the #secbias I discuss.

all of your qualifications matter, only when they are applied to benefit the SEC. Because it dang sure doesn't apply to FSU (or Oregon, or Stanford, or Ok State a few years back)

Speaking of OSU.... I notice they are #24 and won their big XII opener. But it's better for the #SECBIAS to say "FSU BARELY BEAT AN UNRANKED TEAM" and then try to quietly forget whenever that "unranked team" moves up and up and up in the polls. If they are the Future Big XII cahmps.... it will be hilarious to watch the SEC (*)(*)(*)(*) about it.

meanwhile, they will keep bragging about beating 3 loss teams like they are quality wins.

it depends on how one sees things. You can hate on the SEC (and me) all that you want. That does not mean that there aren't other good teams out there.

There is an expectation placed upon the SEC and thus it makes it entertaining to watch as teams try to meet those expectations.

Does anyone really expect Oregon to keep going once Mariota is gone? They will be expected to be a good team but not a title contender

But, year after year it is expected of a few teams to be contenders. Texas used to bear that burden as did Michigan.

I want to see how Les Miles responds to what was exposed about his offense. Great coaches will adapt and we now even see Saban doing that.

Hoke and Muskrat are paid as great coaches but don't deliver. As long as they remain somewhat healthy, Richt will bring GA to another decent bowl game. He just seems to make that one or 2 bad decisions each game that he gets away with with lesser opponents, but cost games with tough opponents.

how has SC, GA, LSU, UF been considered title contenders recently, though.

I agree though... FSU ran off Bowden because he wasn't contending anymore. at 3 years, we were getting restless with Jimbo.... so yes, a perenial contending team is expected in places like UF, FSU, Bama, LSU....

but as of late, LSU is still over-ranked based on that expectation.

I will say, the only non-sec team I hate worse than the overrated teams in the SEC.... NOTRE DAME.

holy crap at the number of times they would be mentioned in national title picture even after 3 losses. How. Even at 4 losses, I heard BCS at large bid talk in like 2001.

I swear.... they haven't been good since 93.... even their national title shot year... they were not good

Yep... A 10 win season was much more impressive back when the teams only played 10 or 11 games in the regular season and 1 bowl game in the post-season. When you have an opportunity to play 15 games in a season, 10 wins doesn't mean that much. I don't follow NFL football. I'm not really a big fan of any professional sport. I think the kids should get a real job when they finish college.
