We have a small grey kitten, named Blue Boy. Like most kittens he is very curious, and quickly associated the refrigerator with food. Whenever you open the fridge door, he is there. Sooner or later, it had to happen. About ten minutes after getting herself a drink, my wife heard this piteous wailing and opened the door to find a rather cold cat, very sorry for himself. "That'll teach him," she told me. Somehow, I very much doubt it.
Did she do this on purpose? If not, how can she NOT notice a kitten climbing into the fridge? It's right there in front of her, meowing and clamoring to get into the fridge.... and it did. If she doesn't have compassion and understanding of defenseless animals, it should be given it to someone who does.......
Absolutely. Can't count how many times I have seen a strange, yet familiar looking cat in our backyard only to discover it's our cat who mysteriously escaped unseen while one of us were coming or going. Can't recall how many times a cat was locked in a closet unknowingly as well. Slithery critters, they are.
That seems like a harsh and cruel, jump-to-a-conclusion thing to say. If there's a lot of stuff in a refrigerator, a kitten, or even a cat, could be easily overlooked.
My apologies if you tho't my post was to harsh, but when someone is looking in the frig, how can they not notice a meowing kitten right in front of them? Anyway, I guess it's possible that your wife turned her back on open door, then shut it w/o noticing a kitten tail wrapped around some food...... I've had kittens/cats most of my life and know they're fast & sneaky critters. I'm glad yours is unthawed and doing well.... sorry again.
I'll bet the cat will avoid the fridge in the future and, luckily, the kitty will have a future. If you find out she did this on purpose, run.....
i had a cat once that kept trying to get out of the house and one time it did...in the dead of winter. out and straight back in and never even went near a door again.
