And, they're under no obligation to release this thing to the public. At least not until the public science catches up. Oh they'll work on it, but once they've done the work and have a solution they can announce to the pubic it was a failure, or, they're just as likely to tug on the chain and demand Exponential growth in the funding. That'll be the point where politicians decide to cut the funding because it's a bloated cow.
This quantum stuff is amazing! Right now we have two rules for how things work. One for how large objects behave. And another one for how very small objects behave, tiny things we call particles. Well, right now we have two rules, but I think we really want there to be one rule. We just can't figure out how to fit them together yet.

Well....NASA announced this several years ago and a few years back at the time this was announced I was REALLY BUSY is you understand what I mean and there is a possibility I simply missed the Public Release about NASA developing an actual WARP DRIVE. But from that point on till a few day's back I had heard NOTHING as far as anyone discussing this nor had I seen any articles about it. Then then a few days back....WHAM!!! I find out about it and I go and Google it and sure as HELL....there it is in multiple articles from back a few years ago!!! What really interests me is that I heard nothing about it during the time this was released to the public till a few days ago but I had heard all about that MICROWAVE DRIVE that NASA has a group looking into and that is like a HORSE AND BUGGY compared to an INDY RACE CAR that WARP DRIVE would be to a Microwave Drive. So....why is it that I heard NOTHING about this even though I am friends with many in NASA and I even have been given actual SHUTTLE MISSION PATCHES....not the COPY ONE'S that they sell in the Gift Shop to the Public but the ACTUAL SHUTTLE MISSION PATCHES as John Young gave me the STS-1 Columbia YOUNG-CRIPPEN patch and Young was the pilot of Gemini 3....Commander of Gemini 10....command module pilot of Apollo 10....and WALKED ON THE MOON as commander of Apollo 16. I also recieved patches from Bob Crippen. The actual REAL PATCH does not have STS-1 on it as the fake patches do. Mine has a picture if a cloudy Earth with the Space Shuttle flying around it counter clockwise with a red line coming from the the Shuttles main engines white colowed blast around the world and the Space Shuttle is also shown blasting off at the top of the patch with it's 2 solid fuel rockets and it's main engine external fuel tank all in white with the U.S. Flag on the bottom of the left starboard side wing and USA on the bottom of the Port side wing. Yellow thread details a takeoff blast current which then turns red and Comumbia with the C as upper case and the rest of the letters lower case is stitched in deep blue between the yellow and red of the Shuttles Main Engine and 2 Solid Fuel Rockets Blast Current. Below this in white over the red is YOUNG - CRIPPEN just as I typed it and the entire outside lining of the patch is in white with the Shuttle blasting off being super imposed upon a field of dark blue. STS-1 does NOT appear on the real Patch!! Anyways....Artist Robert McCall designed the Mission Insignia Patch and the real patches do not have the Black Wing Paint on an actual shuttle. The reason I detailed all this out was to explain it seems funny to me that nothing was discussed with me about a NASA WARP DRIVE PROGRAM for multiple years after it was made PUBLIC considering my friendships and connection to NASA and as a few properties I own exist on the ocean shoreline of Cocoa Beach....it's not like I don't see my friends for long periods as I see them at least several times a year as many have continued on at NASA. I don't know why your friends at NASA didn't talk to you about it. But your details would make it seem like they wouldn't turn on you and give you the cold shoulder. I think the reason the rest of us weren't discussing this was that it was advertised as a very long term project maybe a 2100-2199 usefulness at the earliest. Maybe your friends didn't see this as a priority. Or didn't even know about it beyond the preliminary info. Or maybe they were being schooled in alien concepts and that caused them to be in shock and dumbstruck. Embarrassed to talk about it. OR maybe your not being in the loop was just a result of random chance. Just everything rolled the dice and aligned in just the right way for you not knowing. Snake eyes!
I don't know, but maybe this has to do with a race against time for when the oil runs out? I remember seeing something on TV in the 1990s that said there was oil locked up in the USA and they were researching technology to dig it out. If I remember correctly they estimated 300 years of oil supply in the USA. But I always wondered what would happen after that was used up? We might undergo a massive die-off as the modern lifestyle which depends on oil can't support itself anymore? And the few survivors will have to go back to living like our ancestors did?
Well we already have plenty of oil in the US to sustain ourselves as it is and the means to get to it if we wanted. We aren't using it for political and bureaucratic reasons plus it's good to have our own stockpile when it becomes more scare and if we dug at it quite a few environmentalists would lose their minds. I'm fairly confident that by the time we are in critical danger of running out of fossil fuels we will already have developed the technology making them useless anyway. I least I hope so.
I thought about that as far as maybe it was just a fluke and a combination of circumstances that I was not informed nor was it ever discussed at anytime we met in Florida and DC. But since they know what I am and do and they know what my degrees are in there is NO WAY that they would not have discussed it with me unless they were under a GAG ORDER not to discuss it. Sometimes information is made public and then it is never discussed again and is forgotten even though the program continues to run. This is like the Washington DC overflights in 1952 and the early 1960's as MILLIONS OF AMERICAN'S saw hundreds of Alien Craft flying over DC in formations and this went on for WEEKS in both instances. Yet today....no one seems to know this happened not just once but TWICE!! I was SHOCKED to read the DATE on the article when I looked up NASA WARP DRIVE PROGRAM. I had never Googled it because I did not know about it and the fact this came out several years back and I just found out about it last week....well something is up!!! I knew about Ben Rich from Lockheed coming out and saying that we now had the Technology to bring E.T. back home as that was like FRONT PAGE NEWS and I don't think that Ben was supposed to say anything but if you notice....as Astronauts and Test Pilots and people like Ben Rich who headed up the Top Secret U.S. Military Black Program's Division of Lockheed called SKUNK WORKS.....when they get to a certain AGE where they feel that they don't have a lot of time left to live.....they tend to come out and say a few things. U.S. Astronaut GORDEN COOPER has done this and here is a man that has nothing to gain and EVERYTHING TO LOSE as far as discussing encounters with E.T.....but Gordon Cooper is one of the most SANE AND INTELLIGENT PEOPLE ON PLANET EARTH and so is BEN RICH!!! Yet they got older and decided to say a few things. Gordon Cooper has a few amazing stories and I can't even IMAGINE what Ben Rich really knows!!! Awhile back I posted that whatever a person thinks the level and capabilities are of the U.S. Military.....multiply that by 1000 and you still would come up short. Some members disagreed and disagreed to an almost VIOLENT EXTENT!! At first I thought I understood why as some members have been members of various branches of the U.S. Military and perhaps we might even have a U.S. Army or Air Force General on here as a member but more likely a Colonel or Lt. Colonel and below and they have only seen and been a part of the Standard U.S. Military Doctrine and Weapon Systems as a person must have a NEED TO KNOW....to catch a GLIMPSE of what REALITY ACTUALLY IS....and unfortunate for me....I am one of those people....and these Members were almost violently saying to me....NO!! DOES NOT EXIST!! YOUR FULL OF S#!#! HAS NEVER HAPPENED!! WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!...etc...etc...etc. So I figured that such members who replied almost violently did so because their own ego's would not allow them to believe that they were not important enough to be placed IN THE LOOP of such things.....but that's not it as this might be so for some but not the majority. The MAJORITY act this way because the notion that Human Beings are not the only Intelligent Space Faring Race in the Universe....which if you think about it really is an idiotic and rediculous notion to believe that in a Universe as vast as ours that MANY HUMAN'S ACTUALLY BELIEVE WE ARE THE ONLY SPACE FARING INTELLIGENT RACE IN A UNIVERSE THAT HAS SO MANY PLANETS THAT WE DON'T EVEN HAVE A NUMBER TO DESCRIBE THIS.....well that is the height of conceit....don't you think? But anyways...the majority of people act almost VIOLENT when confronted by the idea of E.T. because it simply goes against everything they were ever taught and goes against everything in their religious ideology. The U.S. and Canada with the advent of Technolohy to turn Sand Tar and Shale into Oil quickly and cheaply....has been calculated to have 6.1 TIMES the amount of OIL RESERVES than the entire MIDDLE EAST!! It just took us multiple decades to develop the Technology to do this. We will not run out of Oil in our lifetimes....but it would be nice not to have to burn it. AboveAlpha
I like the idea of stockpiling resources for the future, so I'm happy we're holding back for now. I'm sure we'll develop something to replace oil. We just need to switch to a green footing when the time comes.
AboveAlpha, As far as people reacting near violently to the possibility of E.T. s existence, I attribute it to be one of those things that may be fun to watch in a movie, but it's terrifying to actually live it in real life. I blame the Movies and TV the ones that depicted aliens as night terrors, that brutalize you, and that scare you half to death. Well, as for myself, as a young kid I didn't even have a concept of aliens. My family didn't have a TV until later and we didn't have any sci-fi books. Only some kids stories and some religious ones. It wasn't until later when I started being nervous about aliens. I think this was because of the TV show the X-Files. For a kid that show was pure horror!! LOL. Speaking of things that scare you half to death have you seen this discussion? Do you believe in the Paranormal?
I am faily certain we are fully capable of replacing Fossil Fuel right now with Low Temp. Micro Fusion Generators as the U.S. Military had it's third successful test last Nov. But such a thing has incredible Military Applications so it will be interesting to see if they allow it's use for Civilian Energy Production. AboveAlpha - - - Updated - - - I have not seen it yet. I don't know how lucky we are in the galactic scheme of things to be blessed with oil on our planet, but the oil and its byproducts are what makes modern life possible. It's going to be a shame when it runs out. The oil byproducts are what can't be replaced with Fusion power.
Wow! This oil discussion is like the kind I had in an E.T. encounter once. And that has reminded me of what happened next. They let me play a game with them. There was a planet in the distance and the goal was to jump close to it without getting close enough to be in range of their weapons. So the first thing you do is take a reading, then move over sideways a little and take another reading. Then you get a result of the distance. [Sorry I have no picture, it was a text input box and I don't know or remember their number system] Then, you have to square the distance with a calculator and put that squared distance result into the first control. Next, on the second control, there's some kind of power level or engine control. First you set the ideal setting and then you power it up and a progress bar moves in an arc up towards the target power level. You have to time it right to activate the engine just as it reaches the target setting. There is a chart you have to refer to and you get the ideal setting from that.
Well, first one alien made a move. Then another alien made a move. And then it was my turn. It took me four tries to get it done. The first time I had misremembered the rules and put the distance instead of the square of the distance as a value in the first control. [But I saw something here that the others didn't. I noticed there was a tiny delay between when I told the engines to start and when they actually engaged] The second and third time I put 0 distance in the first control and, on the second control, I was measuring the delay between when I told the engines to start and when they actually engaged, as well as to see if it was a consistant delay. The others were SO aggravated at me, thinking I was stupid and not listening to their advice. The fourth time (and absolutely the last chance they would give me) I had to time it right to activate the engines before they reached the ideal level so as the energy level was building up during the delay it would hit the target when the engines actually engaged and save energy. I succeeded! The others were totally shocked, they were like "No way! How did you do that??? You used less energy than we did." By the way, since I didn't know their number system, I did all the calculations in my head using my imagination as well as an app to visualize what those numbers actually meant. It was all a rough estimate. It was a close thing. Best physics game I've played since Gorillas.bas.
Actually, I feel I have to apologize now. I promised myself I would restrain from talking about personal alien encounters on the forums anymore. No one wants to hear it. It's just so hard to resist!
Yeah.... I sometimes do that to people. Ah, memories. This reminds me of my cousin. When we were kids, one of my favorite cousins used to tell me a lot that I weirded him out.
Actually I should be clear I didn't do the math alone in my head. I had access to calculators, graphs, charts, instructions, and tools. These were available in my head. The reason they were there and the only reason I was able to play the game in the first place was through lucky chance. It just so happened that earlier in the week another group of aliens had passed through. I had given them permission to read my brain. So, they injected me with something. A few days later they came back and read my mind. Then they said after a week or so the stuff would deactivate and pass out of my system. Whatever it was, it provided a compatible interface for the game, and also it was still functioning though it was a weak signal and on its way out.
Oh, but such talk is weirding people out. So, back to the topic at hand, that Warp drive is really something, huh? If they ever go public with a warp bubble energy source, then they will probably divide the world into zones that are safe to develop and guard those secrets and then those parts of the world that are so messed up that they're on their own. Stone age people living next door to technologically advanced super-societies. In other words the same as always.
