Nathan Phillips Lied. The Media Bought It.

Why are you slandering some kid?

 

The Covington students have been severely damaged by this willful orchestrated sustained media campaign of slander and libel. The media that reported this story knew that it was false and very defamatory when they reported it. Beyond that:

Even after many long videos of the assault on the Covington students debunked the story the MSM and other media republish the original slander/libel.
Even after the children were subjected to death threats, their addresses published online the slander/libel has been republished.
Even after their school was closed because of threats of violence the slander/libel continues to be republished.
Even after an online movement has been organized to use media slander/libel to pressure college admission committees to deny all HS graduates access to higher education the slander/libel is republished.

Everyone involved in the campaign to defame these children should have a serious talk with their lawyers.

with liberals it isn't about the truth the facts its all about their narrative to achieve their agenda
So they will pounce on any situation which no matter how remote they will twist it to create a false narrative to accomplish their agenda and they will give a rats ass if its true or accurate they don't give a dam if it ruins any lives or cause harm and they will justify the ruined lives and harm by claiming its deserved because one time in history their race, sex, religion, or what ever were the oppressors.

That is how they operate, but in this case, like in the Duke lacrosse case and a few others it will soon be all about the money for many very exposed deep pocketed defendants.

 

Your argument in this thread is that face painting for sporting events is acceptable (or at least you don't seem to have a problem with that) but these kids took it across the line by invoking stereotypical 'blackface' and 'mammy' lips.

There's a problem though... I'm not sure the actual photo supports that. I see four kids with black paint in the picture. Of the four, only the one leaning over in the front has additional paint. His face is painted black with white around the eyes and then a white streak across the lips and up towards his ears. I've googled blackface and I don't see any pictures that include those details... I see some which emphasize large red lips but none like that.

To me, that looks more like either a poorly done Joker smile or more likely, a take on the comic book character Venom. The more I look at it, the more it looks like a Venom face than a stereotypical black face. The lips are compressed and pulled wide toward the hairline like venom.

And I'm concerned if we relax liable laws so to make it easier to sue for liable then it will be used to silence legitimate criticism silence free speech

I believe for a liable conviction you have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that what you say or write you knowingly knew it was a lie and you told that lie explicitly to cause harm and you need to prove real harm occurred not hurt feelings but physical, financial, and or social harm

Should have backpedaled out totally and apologized profusely, Complex, before this thing goes thermonuclear. Not too late even now. Let’s just call this what it is... they knew Phillips was questionable but since the narrative was against the right guys they didn’t care to verify before running with the story.

When he was interviewed right after and he is talking about walls i and probably many others thought he might have targeted these kids because of political beliefs. Now had they checked out mr. Phillips they would have seen a similar story involving him in 2015 at EMU I believe.

All of that together would make a person serious about getting the truth out want to dig deeper into this situation before putting egg on their media organizations face. What’s really damning to me in the lack of apologies to these children or retractions.

Despite divisive, hyper-partisan fanatics eager to spin a muddled encounter to their advantage, there is hope that something positive might come of it.

What understanding and mutual respect are we to extend to Mr. Phillips?

Did he confront the grown men who were screaming obscenities at school children and his own Native kinsmen? No.

Did he confront the schoolchildren who responded to such hate by loudly singing positive school cheers? Yes.

Did he march through their crowd until he found a young man who wouldn't back down and then proceed to beat a drum inches from the boy's eyes? Yes.

Did he lie about trying to walk to the Memorial but instead being forced to stop by the kids? Yes.

Did he claim that the boys were beastly and full of evil and ready to hurt the BHI members and then him? Yes.

Did he lie about the boys yelling slurs and things like "build the wall?" Yes.

Did he later partially defend the BHI members by claiming that they were "saying some true things" when asked about them? Yes.

Did he lie about Mr. Sandmann approaching him? Yes.

Did he make any apologies for these lies when there are multiple videos proving that his version is not only mistaken, it is actually opposite of the truth? No.

Is he willing to listen to the boys' side of the story (which is almost entirely supported clearly by video)? No.

Is he still maintaining his positions and stating the boys need to listen to him blather on about how racist the boys are? Yes.

In light of all of that, how the hell can you sit here as an intelligent person (which you clearly are) and still support the man? I get wanting to like the optics of "noble Native Elder harassed by evil white privileged teenagers" but the facts just don't support it.

Help me understand because I am truly puzzled by this one (and I say that as someone who freaking hates the stupid MAGA hats in the first place).

I'm not terribly interested in hyper-partisan fanatics desperately attempting to spin and exploit a matter to further their ideological agenda before the investigation that the Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington and Covington Catholic High School said will take place.

Ascertaining the facts is essential and, in the meantime, I allow for mistaken interpretations being made by all parties involved. Any antsy lynch mobs will just have to compose themselves and be patient.

Neither the pr firm that the family of the student at the center of the controversy has retained, nor anyone else with a vested interest in manipulating public perception, supersedes a fair, objective, fact-based inquiry into the matter.

Negligent slander/libel is enough for a private citizen to win. In this case the slander/libel has been republished even after the false defamatory reporting was exposed and the retractions began to appear. Those who continue to republish slander/libel after the truth has come out are either malicious or are willfully and recklessly disregarding the truth. Even a public figure could win a slander/libel action against these defendants.

And the damages are off the charts now.

 

The Diocese of Covington is now saying there will be a third-party investigation into what happened.

That investigation is planned for this week.

 

The stolen valor boys are looking into the racist's military record.
