Nearly one-third of hospitalized COVID patients develop brain malfunction, study finds

It appears that Donald Trump cold now be suspect of being brain damaged from his COVID case.

"Almost one-third of the patients hospitalized with COVID-19 developed encephalopathy – a degeneration of brain function – according to a study by Northwestern Medicine in Chicago."

“This study highlights that for survivors of COVID-19, when they survive the infection, their recovery is just beginning,’’ he said. “These patients can have longstanding and lingering effects.’’

Trump's current condition is not the end of his case, but a new beginning. Trump has suffered some effects requiring cortisone drugs which are exacerbating the effects on his brain.

Trump's doctors are hiding the facts about his mental state.

Hey this is a good narrative. Play on peoples fears to win the election! Maybe the fear of a possible brain issue will overcome the obvious issues Biden has!

 

Do you have any sources that negate or refute this new medical evidence or is the general consensus from the right wing now just “science bad”?

 

This is why arguments saying this is “just like the flu” are so dangerous, we are just beginning to understand the long term impacts of this virus that may be present long after immunizations become available.

 

An anecdote. My Mate (who got the nasty from Chuck and /or Prince Albert....name dropper me) recovered and was a healthy fella. Now has suspected frontal lobe seizures. Getting checked for it now. This bloke has an intellect very few can match.

Trump was only hospitalized because he is the President and they have to take extra good sure that he stays in good health and has absolutely zero chance of possibly dying.
So it's questionable your statistics would even apply here.

On top of that, encephalopathy is not always too terrible, it can also happen when people get extremely inebriated with alcohol.
Not all types of encephalopathy are permanent. It can be inflammation.

 

Yes indeed, Walter Reed is no place to be if you have any chance of dying from Covid. Best to be in the White House.

 

If they didn't send him to the hospital and he only stayed in his home, that might only increase his statistical probability of dying by 0.2 percent.

 

Yes Dear, I know. Blokes his age and state of general health are bulletproof. Good news that no-one else in the White House has the nasty. It's all good. Mayhap he should go to the Pentagon to be sure. No-one there has it.

 

The only difficulty for the country is with Trump and how can we determine what new "brain issues" be determined in the existing "brain issues" he had manifested already.

It's probably an off-topic to go into, but one wonders how many people there are who become slightly mentally disabled for life simply from the cause of a fairly normal infectious disease like the flu that hit them extremely hard.

What I mean is not obvious disability, but something much lesser than that, like maybe Autism, or higher preponderance for developing Parkinson's when they get older, or getting a little closer to developing Alzheimer's. Or maybe just brain fog and mental fatigue.

And how many hospitalized already have reduced brain function? The media STILL refuses to acknowledge that the vast majority dying are elderly people!! NOT average healthy kids. NOT 20 year olds. NOT 30 or 40 year olds. Your 6 year old isn’t going to the hospital for Covid any more than they would go for a bad flu or pneumonia.

Wouldn’t want to be truthful. Scaring people is more important for an election you see.

The Covid outbreak at the White House is a disgraceful example of Trump-Pence incompetence.

 

No something does seem off with him. Doesn't mean it won't resolve. Several COVID people have mentioned things like a mental "fog" coming over them intermittently.

 

Trump was not given all those experimental drugs just for the hell of it.

Trump could be running against a bucket of manure and he would be losing. The media would be spending 24/7 trying to convince them that the manure smells great. They would even invite scientists to explain the benefits of manure.

The truth is that Trump isn't running against Biden, he is running against the Democrat Party itself and Corperate Media.

 

I love how the same people who scream about how deadly and impactful the virus is don't want to blame the country and government where it actually came from.

Then again, it was the US (under the Obama administration) who decided to offsource their infectious virus research to Wuhan China.
