    I don't buy "tell-all" books because there is something tacky and unseemly about profiting form your own family's or an ex-employers's foibles. But I have seen a few excerpts of this book by Trump's neice and I think it will make many readers sympathize with the President. "Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man," published by ViacomCBS subsidiary Simon & Schuster, Mary Trump claims the president paid someone else to "take his SATs for him," and says a fraught relationship with "problematic parents" was a large factor behind alleged psychological issues.


    Fred Trump "perverted his son's perception of the world and damaged his ability to live in it," she writes, adding that she believes the president is still seeking his deceased father's approval to this day.

    "Every one of Donald's transgressions became an audition for his father's favor, as if he were saying, 'See, dad, I'm the tough one. I'm the killer,'" she says in the book.

    President Trump has spoken fondly of his father in the past. At the 2016 Republican Convention in Ohio, he called him the "smartest and hardest-working man" he ever knew.


    How exactly was the President supposed to resist the power and influence of his own father? Did you? How?

    Assuming the book is truthful, and i imagine it has much truth in it, many will read the above lines and think, "that sounds like MY family. MY father."

    sad so many people relate to the man in the book, how many voters you think will read that book and say, yep, that is the man I support for President?

    I do agree though, I think Trump's father had a lot to do with why Trump is broken inside

    I don't see it swaying anything, in either direction. Trump's ardent supporters will never read it and the people who read it probably never intended to vote for Trump.

    That said, responding to the OP: no, my dad, thankfully, never acted like that.

    I agree - nothing can sway supporters. I've tried asking about the line in the sand that would change their mind about Trump and people responded that there was nothing he could do. And I believe that, sadly

    After this year I will never vote for a democrat again. I never used to be political but the behavior of the democrats pushed me over said line and made me angry.

    When the book is released this forum will be flooded with threads about something Trump may have done 65 years ago while dismissing this Biden did 25 years ago because it was a long time ago.

    He has not really done anything I find objectionable. Im not inviting the guy to dinner at my house. I hired him to do a job.

    In my initial post - to which you responded - I said that no trump supporter could provide a line in the sand for him. And you've proven me right.

    I am capable of providing one for Biden. Many, in fact.
    1. If he refused to approve DACA
    2. If he refused to touch healthcare in order to improve its current form
    3. If he refused to do anything on criminal justice reform

    Ummmm - DACA's seeming to be moving in a wrong direction for you. The wall isn't anywhere near as completed as he'd have us believe and, really, what has he done about healthcare? Sure he tried to repeal it, but since then? What has he done? Amazingly (and because he's campaigning) he went to SCOTUS - but I doubt that will go anywhere.

    So, how's that line holding up?

    Its holding great. Illegal immigration is down, wall is going up, healthcare needs to be reformed but butthurt McCain ruined that for everyone. Trump needs 4 more years to complete his agenda. He's likely to get it.

    Music teachers tell students to watch their dynamics. If you play loud all the time, there is nowhere to go dynamically when you see a crescendo marking.

    I think Trump haters would do well to learn this -- after you call him Satan, where do you go the next time you feel outraged?
