That weapon used against Syrian Army tank is RPG-29. It did not come from Syria. Syria never had this particular weapon in the army.

 

I'd like to see them stop the new tank catapault....

Mandrake is a master at dialectical propaganda. Notice how he and the more openly Israeli posters all yap about letting them kill each other off, when in fact the killers are coming from outside Syria and are being armed, advised, supplied and protected by the USA/Israli/Saudi alliance.

I can't speak for him. But I think most of us wish some third side would come out of somewhere that we could actually root for.

I mean you occasionally point out how members of the rebels are bad. But I don't think you've ever made a claim that Bashar securing power would in any way be a good thing for the US. It seems that would be a rather bad thing actually. Would you disagree?

On the other hand the US is aware that among the rebels there are plenty of nasty Jihad types that also hate us. Genuine terrorist sorts. And there's a fair chance they'd be able to terrorize their way to the top of any new government if Bashar goes down. If it wasn't for that problem we'd proably have armed the rebels with anit-tank and anti-air weapons long ago.

I don't know what a third side would even be. I think we're trying to work something out with various Free Syrian Army elements, but I don't know how promising that is.

So it seems like the best hope for the situation would be to just try and minimize civilian suffering while the rebels and government forces fight to exhaustion and then maybe people (hopefully like you) can lead things in a spirit of peace and not screwing over or oppressing different ethnicities and faiths and not just cement power in order to move on to the next conflict.

Actually, that might explain US foreign policy on this front. We might help the rebels enough to keep them fighting, but not enough to win quickly. Obama's endgame might be that he'd like to see the rebels win...in three years.
