If's from the declaration of independence, which specifically lays out how our country sees rights as things we are born with, and specifically points out that the government's duty is to secure those rights. Nothing in there about them being derived from government.

I'm afraid you lefty boyahs really have drifted quite far afield from anything that could even be remotely construed as "American".

Are you sure it wasn't Godfather two. Right after the scene where Michael kisses fredo?

Oh no matter. The DOI has no rule of law in the US

You might have just as easily quoted

    Leave the gun....take the cannelloni

Of course it isn't a piece of legislation. It's a founding document that explains how real Americans feel about the proper role of government in relation to the people. It's a moral foundation that I'm afraid is completely lost on you. However, rest assured, it's how real Americans feel.

and no, that's not a true Scotsman fallacy. There is a frame of mind that defines real Americans. Think of it as being able to drive versus having a driver's license. You can have a driver's license but not know how to drive, but if you know how to drive, then you can still drive.

We real Americans believe in liberty and freedom with or without government. Lesser "men" look to the government to define them.

Cannon fodder in a foreign country wasn't defending any American freedoms. You were just the military version of a welfare case.

Sorry, but I don't play the stupid "thank you for your service" game that others do. Cannon fodder is the same now as it was in ww1. Just meat for the grinder.

    My condolences.

No you play the real American game.

The I am a real American because I have strongly worded opinions that I voice while drinking beer and sitting on my couch.

    Now that is hilarious

At least I didn't go to some gawdforsaken country in the middle of nowhere to risk my butt so some arms manufacturer could make money. You actually think that's worth something more than a bad episode of hee haw.

    lol!!!!!

If that's your definition of a real American, then all I can say is that we will have to agree to disagree.

Rights are based on the premise that an individual is sovereign which means they own their own body and life. There are many other rights that come from self ownership, including the right to protect that life, rights of free speech, to travel, to marry, and all the rest of human rights are predicated on the basic right to own ones life.
