The New Jersey High School semi-final championship game ended in controversy a few days ago when a correct call was overturned after the game to allow the losing team to win. A buzzer beating shot by Manasquan High School beat highly favored Camden High School clearly came before the buzzer and was correctly awarded by the closest referee to the play.

However, afterwards, the two referees furthest away from the play claimed that the shot was taken after the buzzer and didn't count. The videotape proves the shot was good but the call will not be overturned.

To make things more interesting, the referee making the correct call was white, and he was incorrectly overruled by two black referees. Manasquan is a mostly (or all) white team, while Camden is all black.
