I sat overlooking the ocean. The cliff offering a view stretching past the horizon point. The summer sun beat down yet the ocean air was cool. It was almost peaceful except for the egging sensation in the background that I was somehow exposed. I sighed. Peace would one day be had and these brief moments were some solace of what would be. I thought back to a intellectual conversation I had overheard which ended in the question “what is?” those questions led me astray from those who had not tested the bounds of what was possible and into the realms of the impossible. I hoped id be able to narrow down the truth but my life had been filled with so many lies that I now was easily distracted. I didn’t know where I should begin. The back story or the present. . Was life whatever I now believed in? internally I began to doubt. Had I created all of this? I knew the minds ability to create when under extreme stress was unfathomable. Was I just crazy? “no”. the thundering voice overshadowed my own thoughts. Someone else commenting? Maybe, but it was something I could not easily describe. If such a thing was possible then so was anything else which fell into the category of impossible. Whether or not it was a creation in my mind was irrelevant. What ever I believed was made real and I was now physically able to sense the negative energy attempting to shape the world around me using my own mind. I remembered the days when those around me pretended to be gods and through their manipulation of coiencidal circumstances made me believe it. I now knew that they themselves were manipulations of a hive mind. A invading brain giving power to those who sought only evil so that their own will was turned into reality. They spread by using people as conduit. Creating systems where right and wrong were flipped upside down. Creating situations where friends turned against eachother. For those who had learned from history it was a simple devide and conquer technique. With everyone scrambling for power those who knew what was happening were plagued by misfortune, discomfort, pain, and hopelessness. The people who helped were made to believe that they were special. That they had been born a god among mankind. That everyone else was a toy for their amusment. And those who were foolish enough to believe were swept through life with a heir of entitlement. Shadows whispering lies in their ear to forward the division of our people. The hivemind collecting information from those who lost and with them the herds of people who they had convinced to further their way of life. The system grew and grew until dominating those we care for became a game. Belittling our friends to prove a point was accompanied by the sensation of having fun when in reality we were just being given drugs to make us happy. With the realization that I had given more power to these corrupted hive minds I remembered a quote I had heard. People like to complain and share their problems but they hardly ever offer a solution. I was left reeling for a brief moment, stunned by the error of my foolishness. How could I be so stupid as to forget that power here is givin to the beliefs that people hold as truth and those truths are controlled by the minds. Fortunately not all of the minds were corrupted by the useless desire to control others and I could hear my brain bouncing ideas in rapid fire sucession off of one of these brains. Id recently studied how the mind thinks. Disconnected from my own body I looked in with wonder as I could now watch my brain conversate with other entities. At that pace it was too fast to comprehend in words but like pingpong I was able to register the flow of the conversation. My mind and the other, two distinct signatures. Fascinating. For now I could think of only one possible solution. That personally I was willing to be miserable until the endgame was provided. I was determined to be right. Not the narsisistic form of right where I would convince myself of anything if it gave some sort of advantage in a conversation. I would right myself morally along with facts. Never taking anything I heard for granted just because it was laced with a uplifting emotion. I would never be led mentally and my moral compass must be sound. Rosa parks broke the law and was persecuted for not giving up her seat, years later she was viewed as a hero. Someday so will i.

    — Gravemind[2]
The Gravemind[3] (Inferi sententia, meaning "Thinking Dead"), is the penultimate stage in the life cycle of the Flood and is the ultimate intelligence of the Flood. It is a near-omniscient creature with complete control over all Flood forms. A particular Gravemind is the secondary antagonist in Halo 2, and a main antagonist in Halo 3.

    Life CycleEdit
A Gravemind starts out as a Proto-Gravemind—a Flood form created by merging the bodies and biomass of numerous sentient life forms; some Flood forms may also be repurposed and merged into the Proto-Gravemind. After a Proto-Gravemind has been created, nearby Combat Forms will continue to supply it with fresh bodies, allowing it to accumulate mass, increase in size, and gain more memories and intelligence from consumed hosts. Eventually, the Proto-Gravemind reaches a certain critical mass and becomes self-aware—a Gravemind. This critical mass tends to be made up of thousands of bodies if using human-sized bodies as a measuring unit.

The Gravemind and its subordinate Flood infection will then continue to accumulate. Eventually, when the Flood infection has become too large for even the Gravemind to control—or when no life remains in the galaxy—the Flood infection will reach the Intergalactic Stage, and Flood will leave the galaxy with the intent to create a new Gravemind elsewhere.

im trying to think of situations in which the hero can vanquish such a entity.
