Why does the public give a pass to the media and the bullying that they dish out against those they do not think are worthy.

    Maybe.

Hard to tell what they are referring to, with no link.

As if a 20-month-old account with only 14 posts doesn't set off enough red flags.

They don't get a pass. A lot of people vote against the MSM as a branch of the democrat party come election time.

I hold the Dems partially responsible for the shutdown. The President endorsed the bill that the previous House passed. If the reason Congress hesitates is because of uncertainty on what bill Trump signs, then well pass the one that he endorsed!

But no, that's way too hard for our Congress so "shutdown".

There can be a wall, there can be no wall and I don't care. Just get it over with.

Ann Coulter is running the government.

    Let that sink in.

Also, I am still not sure (in absence of a link) what the OP is referring to.

The Repub House didn't pass anything. The Senate did but Rep. Ryan refused to hold a vote which is what started this shutdown. The bill the Dem House passed was the bill the Senate sent them but then Sen. McConnell pulled the same trick. Before you or anyone else asks, since a different Congress is involved the House bill, while the same as the Senate bill, still needs 'reconciliation' in the Senate to pass as it's considered separate legislation rather than an approval of the Senate bill. Not that it matters, Trump would just veto it and Sen. McConnell would find some obscure rule to prevent a vote until he could bully enough Repubs to prevent an override.

Wait, what? Wasn't the whole point that the last thing the Repub-majority House did was pass a full funding bill? The one Trump asked for and Pelosi bragged he couldn't get? Did I just imagine that happened?

Nope. You've got things mixed up. The Repubs negotiated a deal amongst themselves (probably what you're thinking was a House bill) but when the Senate sent a budget over for reconciliation, Rep. Ryan refused to hold a vote and ran out the clock. Pelosi agreed to everything but funding for a wall (which the Repub budget also excluded) and sent it back to the Senate as presented where Sen. McConnell pulled a Ryan becuase as it was already passed in the previous Senate, he knew it was both a sure thing and had veto override numbers.

The left believes they are coming from a place of moral authority.

They presume they are correct and that any opposing view makes one literally Hitler.

How do you know that the OP isn't talking about the SHAM "Media" of the RW Fever Swamp?

    They never posted a link.

Are you so conditioned to carry water for the RW Trumpies that you reflexively blame your sworn enemy (the Big Bad "Left") for everything?

Could've swore I saw the bill count on CSPAN, where all of the then-majority repubs voted for it, and a few dems crossed over to vote for it. I thought all budget bills originate in the House to begin with. So, that bill is not just sitting somewhere to be picked up? And instead it's the Senate bill without border funding?

Well, no wonder the President isn't signing it. I mean, whether we like it or not, we've got to give some compromises to sign it.

The bill never had border wall funding. Nobody sane wants to build infrastructure to nowhere to build a wall in wasteland with most illegals coming in legal then overstaying visas. It's billions in taxpayer money for something that won't actually do anything. You want to combat illegal immigration, streamline the immigration process so people don't feel a need to cheat, force EVERYONE to use E-Verify and improve vesia enforcement. Net migration on the Southern border is negative, a wall isn't what we need.

And I approve of all of the steps you've outlined to combat illegal immigration. But the bigger elephant in the room, is about the illegals who are here. That thorny topic hasn't been touched. I do not want to reward them with DACA. They didn't come here out of good intentions, they're mostly not productive citizens, most of them are uneducated, poor and have little English skills to speak of.

It would literally handicap our country to legalize them and also undermine illegal immigration reform by creating a "You let them in!" circumstance. On illegal immigration, I'm mostly "far right". A 1985-like compromise simply isn't acceptable. And in more poetic words, I would say that to Pelosi and Schumer. The political factors don't exist for that kind of deal.

This is demonstrably wrong. They're amazingly hard workers, follow the laws (with the obvious exception and that's only a misdemeanor) and while they may have language issues, their kids typically don't. And As I said before, it's mostly Europeans and Indians, a wall on the southern border won't do anything to stop them and it'll help keep the ones already here in.
