    That's some catch, that Catch-22.

    What guns?

So you do understand that this insurance will not reduce firearm accidental discharges resulting in injuries.

This insurance is not about public safety. The insurance is about punishing gun owners and discouraging gun ownership.

And that in a nutshell is it. The left is so rabidly anti gun that even legislation that does nothing gets support. What does this accomplish?

It gives us bargaining chips. The same thing is done with abortion and those ridiculous laws. Don't hate the player....hate the game

It gives you no chips. It just shows that the true anti gun agenda has nothing to do with reducing gun violence and everything to do with harassing legal gun owners and discouraging lawful gun ownership.

Are you proposing that the hypothetical liability insurance the legal firearm owner is compelled to possess and maintain, would be used to cover damages caused to said owner by a criminal using their own firearm against them in an illegal fashion?

I have no idea. Why did you choose NY and not say....Texas.

Yes I see that now (about NY). Again I don't think this is the best kind of gun control....it might be the worst. But you take what you can. That is the game

No, it would be worse to take the datum that black men commit more homicides per year per capita than any other demographic, that the way to prevent the 0.02% of black men who commit homicide from using guns to commit homicide is to lock up all black men from age 15 to 29 in re-education camps. Ah, but you take what you can, right?

Oh, that's true. Black men commit homicide at a higher rate (still miniscule, of course) so let's start there to see if re-education camps are the answer. Then if it is, we can expand the program to include all males of that age group.

I wonder why you want to use the SECOND largest demographic. Must be a reason. What could it be? LOL

Any gun control is good, right? That's the most violent segment we have.

The subject of the thread is NY..... It's kind of obvious.

I can't easily find state statistics, but nationwide in 2014, there were around 15,928 reported accidental shootings or 5 per 100,000 people . To put that in perspective, there were almost 350,000 reported accidental dog bites and 480,000 reported bicycle accidents.

The "game" you are playing makes anti gun advocates appear very disingenuous. It exposes them to the American public as harrassers of lawful people for no other reason but trying to disarm our law abiding citizens and to remove the right to defend ones family from evil people. Don't you think your cause would be served and received better if the drafted legislation was actually seen as effective? This legislation just appears vindictive. Public perception is everything.

you make the mistake in assuming that gun control advocates actually care about public safety rather than harassing voters who don't support the leftwing politicians that invariably are the choice of BM members. posters like the one in question prove again and again that harassment is what truly motivates the gun control movement. Scummy Congressman Hughes proved that true with the Hughes Amendment -a poison pill that was based purely on spite by anti gun nuts who were mad that the MVFAOPA was going to pass
