Meh. Seems a reasonable way to protest. Doesn't hurt anyone (though it could damage property).

I don't wanna hear any complaints from these folks about cops not keeping order in their neighborhhod though.

    Just curious....

What would you say if someone tossed a bucket of water over Ilan Omar’s head?

Would you consider that a reasonable way to protest?

They could say with all this heat, they figured the women in the burka needed to cool off.

    Yup.

Though saying 'its the heat' is self-defeating. Anyone tossing buckets of water on the unsuspecting trying to 'help them' is a moron or blatantly disengenous.

So if it is my opinion that you need cooling off, I should have the right to throw water on you without your consent? This was not a joke; people really threw water on these officers. Maybe women should be forced to give birth, but just because it would be funny!!! :)

At least you admit it was only an attempt at humor!

I give respectto people I first meet. My parents took me to school the first day to my new teacher and told me I better give her respect or I'd be taken to the woodshed.
Trump nor anyone is the Office of the President. You give respect to the office regardless of who is filling it at the moment.

"Captain Sobels, we salute the rank not the man"

Now yes you can respect both but the Dems are attacking the Presidency in order to get to the man for political reasons and none of us should stand for that.

If the cops didn't go crazy on the "punks" then why are righties going crazy? Not that I mind, it's also fun to watch...

The only people that have attacked the office have been those that have allowed it to fall to what it is under trump.

No the ones who are engaged in a political coup and persecution of the office in order to over turn an election loss they are still pissed about.

The left has always been aligned with crime and hatred towards the police. That is why almost all of the prisoners incarcerated today are Democrat/progressives.

Until it graduates to urine, gasoline, or acid. Ignoring it is setting the wrong precedent. And yes, good luck calling the cops in that neighborhood. I guess the water throwers really were "marking their territory".

Most people would understandably be upset that their voices were ignored, I know man on the right have thrown basic understanding, empathy, decency and logic out the window in recent years but that does not negate the point.

An investigation is not a coup.

I remember precedent being discussed in the gay cake threads, conservatives said that didn’t apply then... why should it apply now?

I specifically referenced precedent, not attacking. Asking people not to use certain water fountains is also not attacking someone (physically), but sets precedent.

It was the Democrats that were for segregation and fighting civil rights legislation. I wasn't quite born then.

Im not saying they shouldn't be charged for throwing water. I don't think the penalty should be all that severe (as it should be for throwing any of the substances you mentioned), maybe even just a fine, akin to 'wasting police resources',harrassment or disorderly conduct. While throwing water at people (especially cops) is in fact dissorderly, its not (likely) damaging, so I find nothing immoral or unethical in it as a means of protest. But neither is it 'innocent' and shouldn't be simply tolerated. I would call it 'civil disobedience' or at least very similar.

Or southern religious citizens (we all know what party that is).

Look what party that currently supports the segregationists and get back with me.
One just gave one of them a state holiday and another have the confederate flag imbedded in their state flag. When you have to go back hundreds of years to prove your point, maybe you don’t have much of one to begin with...

I don’t think any party supports segregation, unless you’re talking about black panthers or la tax’s.

Of course I can, but its worse than a useless exercise because I end up being part of a politicization of a story that ought not be. I end up feeding the RW piranha no matter what. .

Well during segregation it was Democrat.

Democrat. Who supports separate racial political groups. Dorms in colleges. Entire colleges. Clubs. Awards. TV shows and on and on and on.

It's an assault and several have been arrested on misdemeanor charges and one with additional property charges for frying a body can. They all should have the max penalties applied.

When police officers shoot innocent citizens, THEY disrespect the uniform, country, rule of law and more.
