The main point, other than the obvious critique of the lack of outrage from the right during Bush's Reign of Terrorism, is that if you want TRUE waste of money, looking no further than the Pentagon will easily net a few hundred billion EASILY.

Really? That seems to be an appropriate conversation for 2007, not 2011.

I agree. I have no problem with looking into Solyndra, or ANY company/individual that engages in fraud concerning government guarantees/contracts, and if there were issues of fraud, they should be held accountable. Unfortunately, our approach to corporations makes it extremely difficult to punish the individuals that constitute the corp's decision making ability.

Did we get our money back?
    Were those involved punished?
    Does it continue?
Were changes made to the system to ensure that it doesn't happen again?

You seem anxious for us to sweep the better half of the past decade under the rug and just move on even though we will be paying for the mistakes made by the Bush Administration for generations to come.

hows that solyndra thing working out?

a loan guarantee doesn't usually mean the entire amount but only a percentage...not even 50% most of the time.

Without intending to you seem to be making an argument against government involvement in the private market that would include Obama picking winners and losers today.

Liberals believe that the fact that someone made a mistake with our money in the past means it's OK for Obama to waste money today and it isn't.

If Obama or any president is not giving tax money away to private companies then no punishment is needed when the schemes are exposed as waste, fraud or abuse.

    Right?
