NDAA would scare people if it passed under Bush, but because it passed under Obama I guess we can pretend that it's ok.

I really hope that the appeal ultimately fails.

Why not just sign another executive order, King Obama?

    What a (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)bag.

But he really hated the Patriot Act until he changed his mind.

A ridiculous overreach. Hopefully this fails.

Why would you say that? People that weren't me were delighted by the Patriot Act.

The right doesn't seem to get so outraged by increasing the police state. The left seems to only care when a Republican is president.

Yep, when it comes to "national security", Obama is quite literally Bush part 2.

One has to ask the question. Why does the administration want this tyrannical legislation to be the law so badly?

    Complain while you can. http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2012/03/ff_nsadatacenter/
Leftists are notably silent on this and whoever noted that, without Bush to attack no one seems very upset, hit it on the nose!

Of course when Obama signed legislation suspending habeus corpus republicans didn't make much of it either. The bottom line is our civil rights are being slowly eroded and not many people seemed to notice.

Can't disagree here. Liberals were all over Bushs ass, fighting his idiotic foreign policy and the destruction of our liberties. And rightfully so. Obama has done all that and then some, and they praise him.

Most of you liberals make me sick.

Keep in mind that Obama himself ackowledged that the NDAA does give the executive the power to use the military to indefinetely detain American citizens without charge or trial:

Even if you believe him, that power would have been inherited by the next administration.

It would only be inherited if someone, like the current president, signed this civil rights abomination into law. Otherwise there would be nothing to inherit.

Of all his incredible lies and doublespeak his comments after signing this bill into law top them all. The suspension of absolutely basic habeus corpus rights seems to really bother him, and he promises never to use the powers he just authorized the president (himself) to have...an absolute logical and moral disconnect.

You know if you really are bothered by this civil rights mistake, you didn't have to sign it into law...right?

He also claimed that the only reason he signed it into law was because of all the unrelated legislation in the bill which is clearly a lie. Otherwise his administration wouldnt be appealing the judge's decision to strike it down.

Well he's a terrible liar and even a worse enemy of freedom and civil rights.

How people can see what a fraud he is and still vote for him is beyond my ability to comprehend. We sit back smugly taking our rights for granted. They can be taken away with the stroke of a pen.

And when I say a vote for Romney is a vote for the continuation of Bush/Obama's policies, this is what I am referring to.

I'm confused. Did Romney appeal the judge's NDAA decision to restore habeus corpus rights to U.S. citizens? Because your post seems to say yes.

No, just every chance he gets he tries to show he is more hawkish than Obama.

I'm guessing you won't address this very blatant fact, and that you spin away.

I'll believe Romney agrees with all the NDAA when I hear him say he does...not when you assume that to be the case.

    I'm sure you understand.
