    NDAA would scare people if it passed under Bush, but because it passed under Obama I guess we can pretend that it's ok.

    The right doesn't seem to get so outraged by increasing the police state. The left seems to only care when a Republican is president.

    Leftists are notably silent on this and whoever noted that, without Bush to attack no one seems very upset, hit it on the nose!

    Of course when Obama signed legislation suspending habeus corpus republicans didn't make much of it either. The bottom line is our civil rights are being slowly eroded and not many people seemed to notice.

    Can't disagree here. Liberals were all over Bushs ass, fighting his idiotic foreign policy and the destruction of our liberties. And rightfully so. Obama has done all that and then some, and they praise him.

    Keep in mind that Obama himself ackowledged that the NDAA does give the executive the power to use the military to indefinetely detain American citizens without charge or trial:

    Even if you believe him, that power would have been inherited by the next administration.

    It would only be inherited if someone, like the current president, signed this civil rights abomination into law. Otherwise there would be nothing to inherit.

    Of all his incredible lies and doublespeak his comments after signing this bill into law top them all. The suspension of absolutely basic habeus corpus rights seems to really bother him, and he promises never to use the powers he just authorized the president (himself) to have...an absolute logical and moral disconnect.

    You know if you really are bothered by this civil rights mistake, you didn't have to sign it into law...right?

    He also claimed that the only reason he signed it into law was because of all the unrelated legislation in the bill which is clearly a lie. Otherwise his administration wouldnt be appealing the judge's decision to strike it down.

    Well he's a terrible liar and even a worse enemy of freedom and civil rights.

    How people can see what a fraud he is and still vote for him is beyond my ability to comprehend. We sit back smugly taking our rights for granted. They can be taken away with the stroke of a pen.

    I'm confused. Did Romney appeal the judge's NDAA decision to restore habeus corpus rights to U.S. citizens? Because your post seems to say yes.
