I am neutral in single payer.
I am not in favor of our current and former for profit system. IMO, healthcare is a basic needed service. And to profit seems wrong. At least to profit in a manner where people get kicked off of affordable insurance because they had a heart attack or a mole that became cancerous.

    I don't have the answer.
And I don't think neither party does either.
But, single payer seems to be a viable option in most advanced countries.

The closer it gets to the mid-terms the more we will see rank and file democrats start to peel away from Nancy and Chuck and try to save their seats

This time, with supervision. We can oversee their work so they don't flush another crappy bill onto the backs of the American taxpayer. For shame that they put us in this horrid mess.

Had they peeled away from Nancy 6 yrs ago, less may have been sent to the woodshed.

She and Reid were disastrous to the D party. And yet, they kept getting elected to the lead.
Shows how party rule takes control over even newbies. Fall in line or get shunned, both parties do it.

The R's can do better than oversee their work.
They can repeal and replace. Oh wait, never mind.:roflol:

    WRONG
The Heritage Foundation came up with the mandate - a windfall to private insurance companies.
    It is RomneyCare.

Let's move on to Medicare for all, the public option, whatever you want to call it and join the rest of the world in doing healthcare correctly.

The Public Option is the needed bailout for out of control premiums being charged by greedy exchanges.

If Trump REALLY wants to "fix" Healthcare, the best way is for Trump to work with the Dems to facilitate the Public Option.

Democrats have no power to fix it. If something is going to be changed ball is in the other court.

What attack? What I state is true. If you don't have a job, and your life consists of hanging out on PF and the internet all day every day, yeah I'm sure obama care is the bee's knees. But if you actually work for a living and have to pay for your own, and pay for the internet addicted, drug addicted, and the down right lazy, obama care is a pile of crap.

But Obamacare (really the Affordable Care Act) didn't need to be repealed, it needed to be tweaked. Keep what worked, oust what didn't. I'm sure Republicans will be chasing after those 24 million uninsured American's votes now, won't they?

Yes we have, and apparently Trump and Republican Trumpcare don't have a response. Sad....

Nope. When the Dems had the power to change things, they gave us Obamacare. That was via backroom dealings, and over the objections of those in the GOP. This thing is their gem. Now we watch it die a slow and very painful death. Thanks to the team of Obama / Pelosi, we have cr*ppy healthcare that is anything but affordable. Quite the legacy.

Nope. No need for the Dems to fix anything. It's a wonderful piece of legislation, remember? So let it just continue on, and watch what happens. Let's see what kind of "affordable care" people enjoy having down the line.

Yup. And President Trump asked Congress to immediately deliver a full repeal of Obamacare, and the congressional chumps dropped the ball. That's not on the President, that's squarely on Congress.

Yup. Obamacare. 'Cuz Obama cares. (I'd be laughing, if it weren't so sad...).

No, it's an admission that once you give an entitlement, it's impossible to simply take it away. Every politician knows this. The beauty of what the Dems did? Yes, they put a cr*ppy healthcare system in place, but now that it's been in place for a few years, at some point its problems are going to have to be addressed, and until they are, you can bet your bottom dollar that the Dems will be shouting loudly about how terrible those Republicans are for not doing anything about it. That's the definition of a no-lose situation, huh? Very nice...

The number of (R)s that ran on the promise of Repeal/Replace is meaningless then I guess Right?

All those lofty campaign promises just so many farts in the wind I guess.

    Not that it's surprising really.

It's just a shame that more level-headed Dems didn't object to a cr*ppy piece of legislation when they had a chance. At least the GOP had the good sense to not replace one cr*ppy bill with another. This is actually the way lawmakers are supposed to act. If something is flawed, you don't vote it in anyway, just so you can throw a party and announce victory. Well, unless you happen to be a Democrat.

Funny, Trumpcare also is a product of backroom dealings too. So much hypocracy from republicans in congress. While Obamacare is the democrat's gem, the Republicans are the ones in power and promising to repeal and replace Obamacare and people are going to blame them for not being able to repeal Obamacare if it goes bad. Republicans will need to fix Obamacare in small packages and get support from some democrats because they don't have the numbers to do it all by themselves in one big push.

What exactly are your problems with Obamacare? It has a lot of flaws but its not all bad and is better than what was before.

It is an entitlement but it helped get 25 million people health insurance and helped make it more affordable for many others with subsidies. Healthcare is so expensive that you either help people pay or you find a way to massively cut the cost of healthcare. Republicans wanted to remove much of this aid which would have resulted in the number of uninsured doubling in order to pay for tax cuts for the rich.

I know you're hurting right now because the Republicans are so freaking incompetent but trying to pretend that Obamacare is bad is just dishonest

Republicans have been crowing about how they would repeal “and replace” the ACA. And now they are in charge, so it’s the GOP’s job to fix our healthcare system. And there’s one thing that’s happened that righties didn’t see coming. The ACA has been getting more and more popular as people have begun to understand it better. Now, more people want to keep the ACA than want to repeal it.

If trump, with his own Senate and House, fails to fix the ACA, millions and millions of people will lose their health insurance, lot’s of people will suffer from lack of medical care, some people will die. And one huge thing will stand out over everything else: The Republicans know how to cheat their way into office but they do NOT know how to govern.

The Mob's possible want for the ACA to remain, really has zero impact on the reality of the ACA being a total disaster fiscally for healthcare in particular, & the nation in general.

Your first sentence, in your second paragraph, proves this.

The ACA, ( Gotta pass it to know what's in it.... You can keep, this & that.... Costs will lower etc, etc, etc....) was possibly the best plan for fail, ever sold..... And Dems own it, 100%

Well, Republicans have been saying they’re going to present their own healthcare plan, and that their plan will retain certain important parts of the ACA. So....where is it? People are waiting. Where’s the GOP’s healthcare plan. They’ve talked and talked and talked. Maybe people will finally learn that republicans are just that: all talk.

Like the Fart-Face in the Oval Office, the entire GOP is just full of LIES.
