    Whether you allow or not allow opposite sex couples to marry, the process of selecting appropriate couples is still called regulation and licensing.
    As you can see, you cannot really avoid government involvement in the relationship of man and woman. On the other hand, government have no business in what other types of couples are doing because their private activities have no impact on the society.

    govn't has the same business in regulating other types of couples as it does regulating opposite sex couples.

    no it doesnt. "other" types of couples dont produce kids, so the govt could care less what happens with them In fact, its none of the govt's business, you would think people would oppose the govt interfering with their right to privacy

    You misunderstand the relationship. Government does not cause, influence, or direct people to live as one. It simply attempts to not unfairly burden those who choose to do so.​

    Offensive to God as in the Christian God? Yes, I can see that argument holding some weight.

    Offensive to America? Hell no! America is not governed by any religion. Plus, the majority of Americans approve of same sex marriage.
