I suppose if you paid by how much you actually retained $1k might be too much for some.

Yes I'm sure you see N95's and Russians all over the place.

I understand a lot more about protecting myself from chemical and biological agents than you ever will. Go ahead and wear your O2 depriving mask all day. Can't hurt.

I understand we're living in your world of make believe where everyone is clean shaven, fitted for an N95, wears it correctly, and everyone is wearing one when they're not wearing their CDC suit.

Keep pretending, at least it's amusing.

Still haven't heard anything on how you plan to deal with the mosquitoes though.

He really messed up the plan by not enacting that DPA didn't he? the trap was set and he left it just sitting there.

You couldn't think of anything could you.

    Not surprised really.

I mean you can't even figure out that wearing a mask isn't going to stop Covid from entering via your unprotected eyeballs.

Just keep letting other people think for you I guess.

I'll give you some time to phone-a-friend if you're needing to resort to repeating the party line.

Still mocking people to cover your lack of knowledge of PPE?

Great, here's your chance to flex your knowledge and explain how the mask protects your eyes.

    Lay it on.

He's telling you true, to be effective they have to be fitted and facial hair spoils the seal. In WW1 there was a German soldier who had a cool mustache till he was under gas attack and his mask leaked. It almost killed him but he survived and that's why Hitler wore that stubby little mustache. If your respirator doesn't fit you're just fooling yourself and it can kill you. These masks make people feel better, like they have some degree of control and that would be fine if they just wore their mask and left others alone when they don't wear one. Those pink ones you like? They will leak if you have facial hair. You probably won't get sick but you probably wouldn't if you wore none at all either. Now if you plan to peacefully demonstrate a full face shield may keep the bear spray out of your eyes. There's that.

Now, you're making stuff up. I said repeatedly on this forum that a mask and eye protection are necessary.

He's trying to deflect attention from his lack of knowledge. Of course, a beard, even one a day old, spoils the seal.
    Absolutely.
Masks cut transmission and are even better when people wear them properly.
    The advantage of...

... is that it's fairly easy to test the seal. It's harder with...

We don't know if we'll ever have an effective vaccine, a cure, or even effective treatments for COVID-19, so it seems prudent to develop PPE more suitable for everyday folks to wear and that protects the wearer as opposed to protecting everyone else.

this will run it's course at some point and become like the annual new flu we deal with every year. It's just part of our lives now but herd immunity will happen even if we hide under the covers till it does.

We don't know if we'll ever get to herd immunity on SARS-CoV-2. Relying on that happening is taking a huge chance.

Of course we will, otherwise we all die. It's just another nasty illness and mankind will cope.

Your mocking tone isn't to your credit.

At this point, we don't know how long immunity lasts. We might have killed 1,000,000 people for no good reason if everyone can get it again next year. Maybe we should work at getting transmission down.

People have an aversion to getting ill. If we do it this year, they won't put up with it a second year.

I believe we will deal with it every year, the genie is out of the bottle. I am still skeptical we will have a vaccine but even if we do I expect it will mutate every year much like the flu. We will find treatment methods that lessen the damage and we will live with it. What we can't and won't live with is the heavy handed government management of our lives through fear.

Herd immunity is of course possible.

However without a vaccine it may cost 2 or 3 million lives.

    You down for that?

    The economy certainly isn't

You're going to find most people want to get the virus under control. They'd rather have "heavy-handed government management" than what we have now.

What of the numerous life long complications that are being found in even asymptomatic patients?
Scaring from on the heart, lungs and blood vessels...

There are worse things than dying, living in extremely poor health is one of them.
