That's been the plan all along... keep releasing strategic oil reserves into the market (along with decreased driving demand due to skyrocketing food/energy prices) until midterms to create a faux increased supply to keep prices from rising out of control until after the midterms. After the midterms, after the reserves "dry up", then prices will skyrocket above $5/gal nationally again.

Here in Wisconsin, we literally have Mandela Barnes (Lt Governor to Tyrant Tony Evers, running against Ron Johnson for Senate) running ads portraying himself as a "middle class man", posing alongside farmers, manufacturers, and "working folk" blatting about his how his mother "was a teacher" and his father "worked 3rd shift". His latest ad involves him blabbing about how much he loves police and ICE, even though two years ago during the "Summer of Love" he was vocally calling for defunding the police and abolishing ICE. He calls those claims "lies" in his latest ad, but anyone can go back to his statements about those things and verify them. His 'defund the police' twitter posts are still public record on Twitter, for example.

It made matters worse, but it's not the cause of gas prices rising (as prices were rising for over a whole year prior to that situation starting). The cause is "green" energy policy... IOW 6uild 6ack 6etter energy policy. The cause of rising gas prices is the chasing of the "climate change" religion agenda...
