OOPS: Special election in TX06 douses Democrat hopes for House seat pick-up.

Still smarting from failing to gain a SINGLE GOP House seat in the 2020 Election, Democrats thought they might capture TX 06.

It looks like the GOP captured both sides of the runoff with (R) Susan Wright, Trump backed, coming in first and Jake Ellzey, Rick Perry backed, taking second. Jana Sanchez, Democrat, backed by the entirety of the State and Nation Democrat Party is taking 3rd at this time.

    Yup!

The GOP needs to pick up 6 more seats to take the majority.

Democrats have a stupid people advantage which they've always had. As more and more stupid people figure out how to vote our Republican flag sinks a little lower. I'm afraid our republic is lost.

Wow, the GOP is going to keep a seat that has been Repub since the 80s. What a win!

You all should be so proud!

It should also be pointed out that Trump did not back Wright until she was up double digits in the polls.

The power they have is the news, social media, teachers, Hollywood, most minorities and big cities.

It is scary that 1 party has that much power and you are ok with that. Liberals would be happy if there was no other parties. We already have a dictatorship. It's called the Democratic party and media.

The media made a big deal about Trump backing her as if support from Trump would possibly hurt her and that never happened.

The media made a big deal about this race. Not just Republicans.

Do you think Trump helped her win?

I do not think Trump was a factor at all, she was already up in all the polls.

It was classic Trump, wait till the last second, see who is up in the polls and then claim to support them. That way he can claim it was him that caused the victory.

    ✔️Ann Kirkpatrick (D-AZ02) is retiring
    ✔️Filemon Vela (D-TX34) is retiring
    ✔️Cheri Bustos (D-IL17) is retiring

AZ 2 is Dem +2 in partisan lean. If we are in a GOP year, we should have a shot at that one.

TX 34 is D+5. That's a heavier lift that would take a really strong candidate.

    IL 17 is D+2

You are right. It would be very nice to go into 2022 already having picked up half of the 6.

It was Blue when it was represented by Phil Gramm, who like so many other Democrats in the 80's realized that the Democrat Party had left them. He switched to the GOP and it's been a Red District ever since.

Like many formerly Blue districts, it now leans toward the Freedom/Liberty Republicans and away from the Authoritarian Busybody Democrats to the tune of R+6; however, of the top 3 vote getters, the GOP drew 78% and the Dems 22% for R +56 in an R+6 district? That's a texas sized asswhuppin', right there.

Dismal turnout by Democrats in this election, you cannot win unless you vote.

    Gee,
    • the candidate Trump picked won.
    • Never Trump was soundly rebuked, with a Rep. Adam Kinzinger-backed candidate getting absolutely throttled, winning less than 3% of the vote.
Adam Kinzinger tries to out Nate Silver, Nate Silver who confidently predicted that Trump only had a 2% chance of winning the GOP nomination and that Hillary would take the ECV by 85 votes or so, actually, she LOST by that amount.... Ooops!
Looks like a GOP year heading into 2022!

Kinzinger may not know squat about political prognostications, but he’s a big hit on MSNBC, being wrong may be a requirement to keep the appearances flowing.

The GOP base fired the GOP Establishment, this is OUR Party. You want a top down party? Join the Democrats. Kinzinger MSNBC schtick is full-on grift.
Bush sat silent and said nothing, while the press that now fawn over him drove his approval down to 22%. He didn't care, because he knew who they really hated, was us.
It's simply the Base recognizing reality, including the enemies we currently face.

Helping Amazon and Coca-Cola save money doesn’t stop the current cultural onslaught, nor do those big businesses do anything but spite Republicans anyway.
We will sit for no more virtue-signaling lectures from those who have failed so thoroughly.

Kinzinger Silver's Michael Wood wasn’t an obscure candidate.

These Never Trumpers are dead to us. They can all fist bump Joe Biden and get lost.

And what Trump did was the same as betting on a team up by 50 points in the 4th qtr of the Super Bowl. Not really an accomplishment.

It's not Trump, it's the mood of the Electorate:

the mood of the Electorate is that two Repubs are having a runoff for a Repub seat...that has been a Repub seat since the 80s.

Trump had nothing to do with her win. He waited till the last minute, saw who was leading and then endorsed them.

You Trump worshipers are too damn funny
