No my numbers are roughly correct, 53 house reps divided by 40 million people in california = roughly 750,000 people per house representative

37.5 million american california citizens get 49 house reps

2.5 million illegals in california gets 5 house reps

    Total 53 house reps

Wyoming population roughly 575,000 equals 1 house rep, note Wyoming would still get a house representative if there was 19 people in the entire state

    Total 1 house rep

Population doesn't determine the Senate each state automatically gets two

I use them both interchangeably, your inability to understand that is your own shortcoming, there is no need for me to “pick a
lane” as I am right where I intended to be.

Incorrect, its your Overton window that is so far to the left you cant understand it is I who is far more centrist than yourself.

I’m talking electoral college mostly, but I’d argue if the smallest state has 575k and gets one rep, every state should get one for every 575k. Electoral college votes should be distributed the same way.

I think it is ridiculous in this day and age that someone is unable or afraid to venture more than 5 miles from their home, elderly and infirmed aside.

The foundational problem is that the Constitution inadvertently provides a structural advantage to today's Republican party. By allowing a candidate to "win" an election despite receiving fewer votes, and allowing one party Senate majority despite representing fewer Americans, the Constitution has allowed minority control which the Republicans have used to their advantage.

If the Democrats are somehow able to achieve unified control of the federal government, they should do nothing until they pass legislation making Washington D.C. the 51st state, and assuming the referendum in Puerto Rico passes on Election day, they should pass legislation welcoming Puerto Rico as the 52nd state.

The extra four Senators would likely be Democrats, and the 12-15 (estimated) House members would mostly be Democrats. In addition, those additional electoral college votes would decrease the ability of Republicans to win elections while receiving fewer votes from the populace as a whole. This, unlike packing the court which most people would rightly view as an abuse of power, would be the best way to retain the Senate, the House, and future presidencies.

Trump is president and has a lap dog as AG. If Hilary or Hunter had committed a crime, they would already be indicted. The problem is all the crimes are being committed by Trump, his family, and political allies. If Trump loses, I can't wait to see all the knuckle-dragging morons walking around with guns complaining and calling for a new civil war when Trump is arrested for his crimes. Combine that with the left going bonkers when the SCOTUS strikes Roe and gay marriage and our society will get really entertaining really quickly.

I imagine a load of 300 pound militia idiots fighting in the streets with transvestites. Personally, my money would be on the transvestites. LOL

It would be a mistake. The next time the Rs achieve unified government, they would just reduce the amount getting rid of the newest (D nominated) justices, or just increase the amount again. The proper way to address this (if the Ds achieve unified government) would be to admit Washington D.C. as the 51st state and Puerto Rico as the 52nd. That would give the Ds a good shot at retaining the Senate which would allow them to restock the lower courts (which McConnell prevented during the Obama Admin) and it would add new house members and would help future Democratic candidates win the electoral college.

Packing the courts will be seen as a misuse of political power; giving two territories representation to go along with the federal taxation they pay would be seen as reasonable and legitimate to all but partisan republicans who would never support us anyway.

"Lawyers and judges who spoke with the ABA Standing Committee on the Federal Judiciary had high praise for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett.

Barrett is “an intellectual giant” with a “staggering academic mind” who is “decent, selfless and sincere.” She has a “stellar judicial temperament” who shows no sarcasm in her questioning.

That kind of praise led the ABA standing committee to conclude that Barrett met the highest standards of integrity, professional competence and judicial temperament, the three criteria used in its ratings of federal judicial nominees."

I doubt it. If he wins, he will continue to stock the lower courts and enjoy his SCOTUS super majority. If he doesn't win, and especially if the Ds somehow win the Senate, I predict the Rs will approach the 72 year old Clarence Thomas (and perhaps the 70 year old Alito) and ask them to resign so during the lame duck session, Trump can appoint two more 40 somethings so the super majority can be guaranteed for decades to come.

If Biden wins and is able to win re-election, there is a chance he could replace both seats as Thomas would be 80 and Alito would be 78 in Biden's last year. That would change the Court to 5-4 liberal (assuming he also replaces 82 year old Breyer).

Changing the rules would be when Democrats were in power and couldn't get any of their crazy SCOTUS nominees through the Senate requiring 60 votes so they decided to change it to 50. They were told this would come back to bite them in the ass, and it did with Kavanaugh, Gorsech, and Barrett.

Now they are crying about it?

That's the exact opposite of how the system works. It's designed to give everyone a voice, not just the most populated areas. Their's no reason for only a handful of states to dictate what happens to the entire nation. If North Carolina gets ignored because Texas has more people and votes, then what reason is there for North Carolina to remain a part of the union? The way the electoral college is set up is to make sure every state gets represented. Is there a reason why that shouldn't be the case?
