What's the progressive agenda? Why the massive immigration into the West? Do they want a large non-native underclass to always vote for an increased Labor party welfare dole? Do they want foreign workers to pay the tax bill for the welfare state ponzi scheme as the native population's low birth rate endangers the whole system from unraveling?

Each party supports mass immigration for different reasons, I think.

Perhaps the Tories just want lower wages. Why else would they support the enlargement of the EU? All 3 mainstream political parties here (as does the US) want Turkey in the EU. At least France and Germany appear to be against that particular madness.

One thing is clear, it will not help millions of Britons (and other immigrants already here) who are just trying to get by with a reasonable standard of living for themselves and their families.

David Cameron said that he would restrict the right of Bulgarians and Romanians to social security in the UK to prevent them from moving to the UK when the restrictions are lifted in 2014 but it is impossible to limit the number of Romanians and Bulgarians moving to the UK by imposing visa controls as previously proposed by the Tory leadership and Eastern Europeans are set to become the largest immigrant group in the UK surpassing Asians.

Eastern Europeans appear to be the major group of immigrants to the UK now. I was there in 2011, previous visit had been 1982 and I noticed the difference. I was wandering around in some towns inside Greater Manchester and was interested to see the number of Polish delis. Apparently, according to my rels anyway, a lot of the folks coming in are tradespeople and they're willing to work cheaper than the locals which is getting right up the nose of local tradies. I suspect that the Tories want that - it will force down the average wage surely. Anyway I'm not sure of what can be done, if anything, it will take a bit of intelligence though, knee-jerk policy reactions will only cause more trouble.

At that rate europeans will become a minority in Britain in only 30-40 years! :omfg:
Not to mention severe housing shortage problems, young adults can scarcely afford a flat as it is already.

Of course, it will be too late to turn off the flow long before then. Good luck trying to convince ethnic Pakistani voters in the UK that Britain's european heritage needs to be protected. And of course there will always be that segment of the population who is impossible to convince...

    [IMG] [IMG]

The whole reason this is happening is that eventually, when Britain has mostly the same ethnic composition as all the other european countries, it will weaken any opposition to European unification. Of course, it will also irreparably damage social cohesion within each nation. But that is exactly what progressives are hoping for, they want each nation to surrender its sovereignty.

Will there be enough decent paying jobs for all these people? Or will it create long-term problems of perpetual poverty?

Unlikely, since most of those recent immigrants were Europeans (mostly Polish).

You can see the demographic change over the course of the last two decades:

Britain's Growing Ethnic Diversity, various years
    ----------- 1991 -- 2001 -- 2008 -- 2008*
------------- percent total population ----- (under age 16)
    White - 94.1 --- 91.3 -- 89.9 ----- 80.9
    Mixed - n.a. --- 1.3 ---- 1.1 ------ 2.8
    Asian - 3.3 ---- 4.4 ---- 4.9 ------ 7.2
    Black - 1.9 ---- 2.2 ---- 2.3 ------ 3.6
    Chinese 0.3 --- 0.4 ---- 0.4 ------ 0.3
    Other - 0.6 ---- 0.4 ---- 1.4 ------ 1.7

So from 94.1% european ethnicity to only 80.9% in only 17 years...

Quite simple, it a foreigner comes into this country, usually via the UK employment agency, the locals are paid off and the wages are cut for these workers.

In Aberdeen, on the offshore boats, some foreigners are on the ship for 6 - 8 months, ask for a pay increase, they never work again.

Aims of industry, an illegal Tory right wing organisation one of a few which marginalises individuals for raising questions regarding black lists, unions, rates of pay and many other abuses of humanity in the workforce.

I myself have been black listed and been forced to sign an secrecy agreement.

As for Ponzi schemes, bollocks, its shows your complete ignorance of empathy and humanity!

Tax, the CEO of Tax Revenue was sacked, he allowed Vodaphone not to pay a 80 billion tax bill! Picked up by a committee, and shown revenue staff as liars!
And this was only one company of the many!
Even star-buck has offered to pay £10 million in tax, offered! Can you offer to pay or not to pay tax?

But they these companies are only taking advantage of changes in tax law, organised by the parasites and Zionists and multi millionaires in the cabinet!

The welfare state is founded on the threat of the gov't's gun. Make no mistake about that. Empathy and humanity is called charity, not forced taxation.

Aye thats one way of looking at it, another, if my economic policies are crucifying my nation, I'll change my economic policies!

MArgaret Thatcher was a degenerate, no such thing as society, a bigot and degenerate who now sits in a corner making a mess in her pants, she deserves nothing more! I only hope she lives for ever for the crimes she has committed against her society!

I'd say get out of the EU and form a nationalist party. One worlder crony capitalists/bankers, progressives, and "conservative" centrists created this mess. They will not fix it.

One good thing going for European states is that they are not tied into a "winner takes all" election system. This is what causes a two party system in the US.

Smaller parties can gain traction quickly compared to their incredibly difficult struggles in the US.

You aren't changing anything in Brussels or London. You may have a chance by getting Scotland out of the UK.

Cut bureaucracy/ gov't regulation and go to a flat tax like the Baltic states. Then, you'll be cooking.

An Independent Soctland would be run by either of two leftist parties who love lots of Bureacracy, nepotism and big big government.

Not necessarily. Certainly in the short term they would, but in the longer term I think a re-balancing of politics in Scotland would be quite likely, as they see the actions (and mistakes) of their own governments, while no longer feeling the pressure of having to influence the the outcome of elections to Westminster with the parties standing on a Westminster agenda. We've seen the same thing happening even in the context of devolution (and a much better electoral system, of course) in Wales - in Assembly elections there is no longer the same drive to keep the Tories out at all costs, because the Welsh Tories are now able to talk to the Welsh electorate on a Welsh-based agenda, rather than on a Westminster agenda that people feel has little to offer for (and little concern for) Wales. As a result, a party that was quite recently virtually electorally dead in solidly-Labour Wales is now the second largest party in the Assembly, and also making a comeback in Westminster elections.

You make a good argument that is worth considering. I give full marks for Scottish Tories for putting a Gay women in charge.
