So what happened "last night in Sweden" ?

 

President Trump has incredible instinct. He mentioned the problems in Europe due to immigration and look what happened.....

 

Yes I am defending him.
I am not comfortable with shrill criticisms from any side. There were sound arguments made about the crime rate not being effected by immigration. But I have been vaguely aware of growing concern within Sweden about the integration of immigrants and the open arms policy of the government.

His detractors leapt on this too eagerly and misrepresented what he said in order to make him look like an idiot,

Well, it back-fired and now you lot look like idiots.

The lesson is to not use grasping hyperbole to create straw men again.

 

Where did it say there was a terrorist attack?

 

It was simply poor grammar, as he was referring to the TV program which aired that night. Clearly, as nothing specific had happened in Sweden, and there was no reference to any event but rather to "problems" they are having (ie continuing), the comment would have been nonsense otherwise. You only had to be reasonable in your criticism and read things in context.

Trump's detractors were simply too eager to score cheap points.

 

For the first time ever, we are witnessing a nation commit suicide.

 

Left wing globalist benefit? Wow, great indoctrination. Think sandy hook was an Alex jones globalist plot? Wonder why the Muslims here are better educated and have higher incomes than our high school brewskis?

 

Trump tripped himself off once again by making a reference to an event off the top of his head so he's to blame to that extent. But he was referring to an actual Fox news story and, as we all know, Sweden has a problem with non
assimilating Muslim residents so even if his dates were "effed up" the essential point he was making still is valid.

Not all refugees are bad and we all know that (family members are actually working with a family from Syria and one from Afghanistan) but efforts to screen
out dangerous bad apples are well spent, I think.

Europeans don't have to ... anything just because a handful of Trump fanboys on this forum say so. Some people here seriously seem to think they are God's gift to the western world and only they have the reason, the knowledge, the sanity to see problems.
Vast majority of what I've read here in the last couple of years coming from yanks regarding European policies was illinformed, clueless and often plain stupid. Yeah, of course, Sweden is no more, France is close to civil war and the next chancellor of Germany will be Achmed whatever.
Might want to clean your own yard first (it's what I've read numerous times when a thin-skinned yank was criticized by a non-yank, I have to say, though, that I don't find this argument very convincing).

 

Trump misspoke he meant to say immigrants are causing problems in Switzerland not Sweden. Or was it Swaziland I get 'em mixed up.

 

The issue with Islamists is their belief that government must be a theocracy. They will not accept a secular forms of government. Also most European countries are now experiencing a rise of "citizens first" political figures. For example Germany and Holland. This is the response you get when liberal progressives open the doors without vetting to feel virtuous.

No arrests at Berkley and no arrests in Sweden. I'm seeing a pattern here.

A cop was put into a predicament where firing his gun was justified, but nobody was arrested? That's a problem that won't go away until somebody deals with it.

 

The only reason we're not like much of Europe is because we don't have pure Socialism. Had it not been for Hitler's Germany, neither would much of Europe.

The elite bureaucrats tie the hands of law enforcement when it comes to immigrants. I've seen the full effects of this in my community which is a quarter Somalian. They are hands off unless it is the most serious of crimes.

As someone living in SFla I can attest that our violence is concentrated in a very specific central/South American demographic along with obviously Africa Americans, suspiciously missing from Swedens population😉

The failure is yours and trump's for trying to paint Sweden as a hotbed of criminal activity when we have the county he held his rally with frothing masses in having a higher number of murders. I know you really just want to blame minorities for all of your failures in life, and your racism is noted. That being said, Trump lied out of his fat, ugly, orange face in front of everyone and trump apologists can't wait to come to his defense. You're nothing if not predictable.

 

I wonder which is worse. Living in Chicago or living in Sweden.

 

We have a big problem with minority violence in this country. That is why that county has a higher murder rate than Sweden. This really doesn't reflect on Trump or conservatives. It's a progressive problem.

Depends. There are some really nice, rich, gated white suburbs in the north part of Chicago where a lot of diversity lovers love diversity from a safe distance.
