It goes to show the literal stranglehold hold the two parties have on this nation. Moderate democrats and moderate republicans should form their own party and completely abandon the fascism endorsed by the far right and the absurd social agenda of the far left.

14 billion dollars was spent during the 2020 election cycle. There’s no way any third party can compete with that.

    https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2020/10/cost-of-2020-election-14billion-update/

Another 9.3 billion spent on the 2022 midterm elections.

    https://www.opensecrets.org/news/2022/09/2022-midterm-election-spending-on-track-to-top-9-3-billion/

Both major parties owe their hearts and souls to corporations, wall street firms, lobbyist, special interests, super, mega individual money donors etc. This is where both major parties get their money to run their campaigns and organizations. In short, we have the best government money can buy.

I so agree, this year would be an ideal year for an independent or third party candidate with name recognition. The problem is that independent or third party candidate would have to raise and spend billions just to be competitive. There's no way with corporations, wall streets firms, lobbyist, special interests, the super mega money donors all being in the hip pockets of both major parties will that ever happen.

Duh - that has happened almost EVERY year for the last 60 years - sometimes at higher rates. Is what it is.

I think that mental ability is very important for a President.
Biden is too old - that's a lesson we should have learned with Reagan and Roosevelt.
Trump is just plain insane. Clinically insane.

It's very sad that's it's come to this.

The folks at the NYT sure know their mental health stuff, and they're consistent, too.

The DNC are some low ball'n mofo's bro! They will walk this guy to the grave before they'll accept anything/one else. Oh wait, they haven't anyone else :(

I'd have gladly voted for Kennedy, but these heartless DNC fascists would rather beat this mule up the hill without any remorse, none, nadda, zip..

"A majority also think Trump is too old for a second term."

I wonder why you left this bit out. Care to comment?

Hell yeah, get rid of both. America doesn’t need or want either.

    Great...
Sixty-two percent of Americans think Trump, who is 77, is too old to serve as president.

Its not his age. I know people between 85 and 90 that are mentally sharp and full of energy.
