….Speaking of flooding, what makes this month’s symbolism even worse is that it does so by stealing a sign that was designed by God Himself to serve as a reminder of His grace and forbearance with mankind — despite their sin. After the flood, when God destroyed man from the earth because “every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time” (Gen. 6:5), He promised Noah and his descendants that He would never again flood the earth. As a guarantee of this promise, God told Noah, “I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth” (Gen. 9:13-16). The rainbow was meant to be a sign of God’s covenant, not a symbol of mankind’s corruption. But sin spoils everything it touches, even the colors of grace. Reflecting on the advent of yet another month of memorial dedicated to man in his sin, it hit me: The far more appropriate color for these days would be black. And a far more appropriate posture would be one of mourning. Sin is never something worth celebrating. It’s certainly never something to be prideful about. As Christians, we believe this not because we think we are better than anyone else nor because we want to look down on the LGBT community — not at all. We know this because we have been given the grace to realize that sin leads to death (Rom. 3:23). What, then, is the right response to death? Or the threat of death and judgment? It’s sobriety. It’s humility. It’s mourning. It’s what the king of Nineveh did when he heard the prophetic words of God’s judgment from Jonah: “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown” (Jonah 3:4). What was his response? We read that “when Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust” … read more: https://www.christianpost.com/voices/paint-it-black-mourning-the-month-of-june.html The author is exactly right. The Rainbow is Gods covenant with us that He would never again destroy the world with a flood. Culture has twice over turned June into a month for mourning and for sack cloth and ashes.
The flood myth is a physical impossibility, there would of been nearly 4 million animals on the Ark, just how would they all of been kept on the Ark just not enough room? Never mind how all of the animals managed to be gathered in once place at an average of 3 seconds per animal it would of taken over 4 months to load all of the animals.
Almost every ancient culture and religion on the entire planet has some variation telling of the great flood
There were nowhere near that many breeds of various species that close to original creation. The global flood happened and there’s proof of its effects all over the earth.
So evolution exists then if not where did the different species come from? Or can we just accept that there where that many plus only non clean animals had a single pair other species had seven pairs. As it’s not know how many cleans animals there where we can exclude this and keep the number at 4 million. There are there thousands of new insect species discovered every year. this is of course excluding marine animals, the channgs in salinity temperature of the water would of killed off many species unless somehow these were stuffed into the ark as well. Then we always discuss how a small number of breading pairs managed to reconstitute a population with the current genetic diversity and with out genetic problems (hint they can’t) There is evidence of local floods but zero evidence of a global flood, of all the stories the flood is one of the least plausible.
Silly braindead superstitions are bad enough, but silly braindead superstitions that celebrate mass infanticide and mass murder are even worse. I'm glad that homosexual have found a better use for this symbol than the devil worshippers. And, yes, anyone who worships a God who would commit that kind of murderous atrocity worships a demon of the worst kind, not a true god.
No, there isn't. There is no geological evidence of a global flood. Which, yes, is proof that no such flood ever happened. It's a silly superstition.
Technically there was a global flood, sort of, but it was way before humans, or most species were around. The air wasn't even breathable IIRC.
The great oceans we have today and the tallest mountains were not present on earth pre flood but we’re a result of it.
