There are two reasons for that. First of all, Trump is the star and does all the thinking (alas). Second, these guy don't know how to do plausible deniability. Trump's attorney pursued a real estate deal with oligarchs directly connected to Putin (and now indicted) throughout the campaign. Trump's campaign was strictly out of the right wing talk radio resentment playbook. He also tapped into a deep pool of latant racism, and continues to mine that dark corner of American political culture to this day.

And they're being conned again with this Trump-Putin private meeting. Let's see anyone refute this - given all the controversy over collusion, collusion, collusion and his refusal to take a stand against Putin and his repeated praise and openness to Putin, anyone would make damned sure this meeting was known with certainty to be proper, appropriate, and acceptable and would therefore make sure there were acceptable and neutral translators and witnesses present at the meeting. And the fact that he has ordered that no such American may be present and that he will be alone at the meeting means one of two things. Either he is horribly, egregiously stupid and unfit for this, or he has something serious to hide. I believe he is not that stupid. So I believe he has something to hide that he really really doesn't want us to know that will go down at this meeting. There. Try refuting that. And I believe what he wants to hide is that he will focus on asking Putin what Putin would like him to do to hand over America to Putin and what Putin would like him to do with foreign policy. I believe he intends to do Putin's bidding. And the Republicans aid and abet him in this. And be aware that if that is what happens, it is treason. But who will hold him to account?
