Patrick Madrid on tax exemption for churches

    So I am listening to Patrick Madrid the other day on EWTN and although I wasn't able to catch the whole show he seemed to be talking about this article from the National Catholic Register:

    Evidently the 2011 bill didn't go too far. But I like this idea. I would rather be able to speak the truth than worry about tax exempt status. And I like the idea of secular "tax exempt" entities having to pay taxes, too.

    There should be no tax exemptions for any organization. Tax exemption is just another source of political corruption.

    ...as if we are ever going to get rid of political corruption...

    Hope springs eternal. Or maybe just reduce it somewhat (corruption not hope).
