In his speech at George Mason University on January 8, 2009, Obama warned that we were confronting the very real possibitlity of double-digit unemployment rates. Republicans accused him of exaggerating the situation and using scare tactics. But come springtime, they would flip-flop by 180 degrees and claim that Obama had actually underestimated the severity of the crisis he inherited. Republicans will say anything at all, you see. The plan to force vaccines on girls was hotly contested by conservatives in this state. Main difference between him and Barack? He listened to us and backed off. He's been my gov for a long time now and there are numerous things he's done I don't agree with. But he's been a strong leader and kept our state reasonably healthy compared to other states. He's a smart guy who really is an example of the American Dream. Born to a poor family but managed to become an Eagle Scout, get a degree from Texas A&M, serve as a pilot in the Air Force... serve as a successful governor of the second largest state in the union. He's PERFECT presidential material compared to Barack Obama. And I believe he can beat him.

He hasn't made a lotta enemies with either pro or anti immigration folks here. Which is a considerable accomplishment considering the problems with illegals all states along the border are having to deal with. What does any of this have to do with Perry leading in the poll?
