That in RED is quite easy to speak to.

    Ground work

Commerce charges the rich the same as the very poor. Prices at COSTCO, Amazon, Whole Foods, Sears stores (that still exist) and all other commerce does not means test the customers. The rich could negotiate a better deal with a contract to purchase in huge quantities but that is a very special case. People in the Gates class or the Buffet Class may not bother to negotiate since they are not short of money.

    POINT of my talk

What is a fair price for the rich to pay the store. Should the Store do a means test and issue a card for the rich causing the rich to pay much less? I do not think that is a workable plan.

What is a fair cost for Government? I would class Government with the merchants. IF the rich that pay high taxes can get more, perhaps they need a special discount as well.

What services? I live on a private road with retired cops and firemen. We have our own hydrants, hoses and turn out gear, there is no need for any "more" cops.

In America, the typical fireman is a volunteer serving his community.

I found this out after my father died and got it from a fire official.

Dad was the local area fire chief and he told me he got no pay.

Cities are where paid departments are. But if a city is not large enough one can also find volunteers. As to the police, due to my client cops and my son in law and my daughter, there are volunteers serving the community to help the cops take care of things.

Is that your boiler plate answer? suppose the retired cops and firemen were all away on vacation? then what would you do? Send up a distress flare for help? Suppose the Russians decide to land a force in the town you live in? You gonna grab a hunting rifle and hold them off or do you want the National Guard to show up and defend our soil? Or the next time you have a mud slide or other natural disaster who you gonna call? the boy scouts? the local church?

I'm beginning to think that you truly don't have a clue my friend.

The volunteer fire service is slowly disappearing since most people cannot find the time to volunteer since they have to hold down 2 jobs or work 60 hours weekly in their one job. Many small towns cannot rely on having local police departments due to the costs involved and instead rely on the state police or county sheriff for assistance and sometimes it can take up to an hour to get a patrol car on scene. In Alaska, sometimes it can take the state police up to 3 days to reach certain parts; that doesn't do much good if someone is shooting at you or a domestic is underway.

If people are putting their hopes and dreams on the volunteer fire service, they must be drinking Kool Aide. :)

They DO pay more and no they do not benefit more from police protection and many have to hire private security to achieve the protection they seek. Where are most police dispatched in cities, in wealthy neightborhoods or in poor crime ridden neighborhoods.

With more and more tax rate cuts the highest earners have paid more in actual revenues and a larger share of total income taxes.

DUH. Are you advocating a higher capital gains tax rate? If so why?

Fact. We have never tax "wealth" at the federal level other than the extremely limited inheritance tax, would require an Amendment just like the income tax, and we have no way to access the wealth of those to whom it would apply. Even with the inheritance it takes YEARS for the values to be established and taxes applied often involving the courts just for one individual. Just as stupid as when Warren brought it up.

In which state election are you talking about? Trump won more votes in 30 states compared to Hillary in 21 states. There was no national election.

His secretary makes about $200k a year in salary. That is a deceiptful thing to say, and Buffett said it to deceive us. If he doesn't like it, he's free to donate as much as he wants to the feds.

Hillary had almost more than three million vote than Trump.

A total of more than 14 million more voted against Trump than for him. It will be over twenty million next year.

    Trump was a fluke.

As always, you misrepresent it. You begin by quoting his comments on Trump's tax cuts for the rich, and you falsely conclude that he "wants more of your money". No he doesn't. Not at all.

I would vote for him BECAUSE he would tax the rich far more. We need to claw back much of their booty to fund needed projects and policies.

Are you saying that if the Democrats take majority control of both houses AND the presidency, they won't be able to make sure such tax excessive avoidance can't happen?

If you had been following the thread I brought up that it is mainly completely legal tax strategies that lower individuals and corporations emtr. We could stay with our current tax rates if these entities would simply pay what they should owe.

If government order were to break down, it would be businesses and the homes of the wealthy that would be ransacked.

I suppose the terms earned and unearned are just terms to you. That there isn't a underlying meaning.

Your "whataboutism" is truly priceless. Since moving to California in 1985, I've never had to call the Fire Dept. and the Police only once. My home alarm system is a silent alarm, if someone is in the house and walks in front of one of the motion detectors it dials my cellphone and turns on a microphone so I can hear what's going on. The only time it went off and I heard some noise, I called the Police to go check it out. They were more worried about whether I had a free alarm permit. The dispatchers lecture on having a permit was cut short when I hung up and called a neighbor to check it out. I had to keep hanging up on the police call backs till they quit trying. Some great services that I pay a lot for.
