This is an old article but a good one. The idea that China would go through the hassle to pay bloggers to guide an article their way is pretty lame, but I seriously wonder how many of them may be here lurking in the forums

 

Nothing new we have several Russian agents here also, some of them do not even deny it.

 

Paid posters are nothing new. There are similar stories that Russia does it, and even Israel. I bet during elections we get more then our fair share of them. Still, it looks like they're more on news sites that allow people to voice their opinions on news then this one here. Not saying we don't have them, but that we're just lucky in terms of how many we do get.

I would not be surprised if Both Parties have paid hacks here and on other sites some sure seem to all over whatever topic is being pushed for that day. Note, if a site discovers you are a paid hack for any Party you will be banned for life, they take dim of being used and rightly so. The vast majority of us here do this for fun and because we done care about the Nation, I include even those I am often at odds with here in that group.

Back when the Politico use to have a community forum, starting around in 2009 you saw a bunch of new members and it was obvious that they were White House hacks trying to derail any thread that didn't support America's first African-American President. I think the White House recruited them from Move On.Org.

There is one poster here that has racked up over 70,000-80,000 posts here under two names in a very short time, and nearly the same number on at least two other forums I know of, almost all of them defending Islamic terrorism of various flavors. I think most know who she is. She's either paid, a shut in who literally posts all day every day, or a sock used by shills working in shifts. I think I post a lot and spend too much time here, and I have less than 1,500. I can't imagine having 10,000 posts over sevral years, much less 18-20 times that number on three or four forumsunless I was getting paid. I would just start some blogs if I had that kind of free time.

A while back I ran into a new member who was pushing Iranian Islamic Revolution Propaganda and after about 3 posts I think after I replied they disapeared and have not been back since! LOL!!!

I guess he or she....most likely a HE....didn't count on me knowing Farsi! LOL!!

I think you might have seen that topic....as I was talking about how at one point a thousand years before European's even thought the world was round.....there were well designed and planned Cities in the Middle East that had GAS STREET LIGHTS and well working PLUMBING SYSTEMS!!

Then came a much more radical form of Islam and Middle Eastern Society that back then had the very best Mathetaticians, Surgeons, Architects...etc....just went into a downward spiral back to almost STONE AGE CIVILIZATION!!

There's plenty of Republican paid posters not sure if their computer programs or paid posters? I think everyone here remembers the paulbots who would just write "ron paul 2012" literally everywhere. But there's also people who post strange detailed arguments.

Last week I read a recipe for lasagna online and theres one single post in the comment section someone posted a 1 paragraph rant about Obama and some new headline

I have visited topics in science and sports and out of nowhere some idiot posts how OBAMA is to blame from everything from why a persons CAKE FALLS IN THE OVEN.....to why it's Obama's fault that this sports team lost or how it's because of Obama that we have yet developed a Unified Field Theory!!!

I did not vote for Obama but he is the ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES....and whether you like him or hate him....the Office of the Presidency should hold RESPECT!!!

I posted this before and even though I usually vote Republican as I am a Moderate Independent Voter from Massachusetts who is Fiscally Conservative and Socially Liberal....I have had a few members call me Left Wing and one member said I was lying and that I was actually an Obama Voter and Supporter.

That member was right about one thing....I always support who ever is the elected U.S. President.

I feel the same way about people like Mitt Romney and Dick Cheney; Mitt doesn't keep his money in the U.S., and Uncle Dick's company is a Dubai company now. Clintons both favor Mexico and Red China and numerous other foreign countries over the U.S. economically, as do most major corporations. They should be registered as foreign agents, same as people who lobby for foreign interests are required to.

That's not true because those threads derail themselves purely on the premise. Presidents of the past before 24 hours new and 24 hour eyes on the White House and Congress were far more corrupt simply because it was so much easier to be so. What we think is all this "new" corruption is simply the same corruption that always happened and we're just now hearing about it now because the media/internet vacuum requires a constant supply of drama.

 

My understanding is that the Lizard Men pay best of all but the required mind control chips make you eat flies.

Newsflash, guys. Nobody really CARES what we think/post/advocate and that pretty much includes most of us. If most pols would pay anyone for anything here it would be to NOT post because all you're really doing is stirring up trouble and making whoever, whatever you post about the topic of controversy and butt of several posts with arguments against them that most people would never think of on their own

Have you ever noticed that the vast majority of a candidate's "campaign" consists of a very few catchphrases, repeated over and over in the most expensive medium possible for a long time before the election? Why don't they wait until just before the election and then buy 30 minutes to lay out their complete agenda in detail? Because not only don't they HAVE one but because most voters couldn't care less anyway, The last thing any real candidate wants is for someone to apply critical THOUGHT to him or particularly, his ideology.

In fact one of the first laws the Obama administration violated was setting up a white House website for Obama's supporters to snitch off on anyone who opposed Obamacare (ACA) It's taken right out of Joseph Stalin's playbook.

A thread that side drifts off topic is normal. Sometimes the side drifting makes the thread a very active thread and a very interesting thread that gets a lot of traffic.

But you have those trolls who deliberately side drift a thread to change the topic hoping to kill the thread.
