    Speaking from the White House Tuesday evening, President Trump announced Kodak, formerly a camera and film company, will adapt into a pharmaceutical production company. The move comes as the United States government works to bring sensitive and crucial medical supply chains back from China.

    "I'm proud to announce one of the most important deals in the history of U.S. pharmaceutical industries. My administration has reached a historic agreement with a great American company," Trump said. "The coronavirus shows the importance of bringing manufacturing back to America so that we are producing, at home, the medicines and equipment and everything else that we need to protect the public’s health."

    This is great news! We need to bring back pharmaceuticals and manufacturing from China. Both for national security and for more middle class jobs. Our President is doing a great job.

    Trump is decoupling the US from China.

    There better be some diligent oversight here I don't want to see this become another <insert Obama era "green tech" company> loan scandal/waste/outright fraudulent scam campaign donor kickback scheme.

    Probability of that occurring - high to almost inevitable

    like every Trump promise -oversold and under produced the possibilities of converting a company like that into a Pharma company by end of year is - well I won’t say impossible but they have some major major hurdles. What drugs will they produce? I am betting they will start with generics and in that they will be competing with India

    Kodak did something Dirty Donald was an expert at, DECLARING BANKRUPTCY!!! Kodak goes out of business as a film and camera company and now resurrects itself as a drug company with a loan from taxpayers??? Something smells a bit fishy??

    They purchased a pharmaceutical company in 1988.

    The article specifically said they were starting with generics. We need those here too. Often when I get generic Rx’s they are from Teva which along with their government, Israel gave us a lot of Hydrochloroquiene. It’s important to have the means to actually produce components of medications here.
