Then I wish you the best of luck finding the "right" clientele that gives you the most pleasure.

...it's not about pleasure, it's about fixing problems that can be fixed...

I know about the neuropathy and ulcers. That's why I mentioned that a lawyer might be able to set up a policy statement for you that says that your work could be a danger to diabetics, the aged, and others with serious foot problems. It's just that you need a lawyer to safetly navigate those waters. Becuase if it would appear to a judge or jury that you're just not working with them because you don't like them, than you're cruising to lose a lawsuit.

Not that it also isn't enough to claim extra costs or risk. For example the laws preventing businesses from discriminating against the disabled force resturants to pay for handicapped bathrooms, wheelchair ramps, etc. Eventually you reach some grey area where the consideration is considered ridiculous, for example the resturants don't have to hire somebody to spoon feed quadrapalegics.

But you're going to want to run it by a lawyer.

In this thread I am continually shocked by how many people don't know about business owners rights in these regards having been legislated away.

Also by how many people post before reading the thread....

I was going to say that they're safe because Churches aren't public businesses as such. But honestly I'm not sure how much that will work in all cases.

Also you will certainly get cases where you have people in various jobs like ships captains who are part of a business that does marriages, or the public officials at the courthouse that perform marriages that belong to religions opposed to gay marriage.

And some of them are probably already forced to perform their duties for homosexuals in states where gay marriage is recognized or lose their jobs.

Heh. It's kind of funny. As we've noticed in this thread a lot of people don't know about these laws. As a result I'm remembering recent threads where people were making slippery slope arguments about gay rights, and others were saying that's a silly argument.

However we've already slid right past what they were arguing about!

For that selective few you believe deserve your help. I get it.
