'Physically closed': Alberta health officials shut down GraceLife Church west of Edmonton

    More details.

EDMONTON - Today, April 7, 2021, Alberta Health Services (AHS) physically closed GraceLife Church (GLC) and has prevented access to the building until GLC can demonstrate the ability to comply with Alberta’s Chief Medical Officer of Health’s (CMOH) restrictions.

    https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/news/releases/2021/Page15850.aspx

    ----------------------------------
It sounds like the church was given many chances to comply with the rules as set forth by AHS and they were left with no other choice. Someone posted on Twitter that they erected a fence around the property practically overnight. Many of the comments on the article suggests that some people view this as religious persecution. I think that may be a hard sell considering the repeated warnings.

    What do you think?

Maybe they should be forced en masse to do deep knee bends till they get with the program. I once thought it would be the 2nd Amendment that would bring about violent civil "strife", if you will. Oh, no, no, noooo......Covid, and governments reliance on it to push authoritarian wet-dreams they would NEVER dare trying otherwise, THAT'S what's gonna bring it all down. There were nearly 5 MILLION first time firearm purchasers in 2020 ALONE....and I doubt Antifa and BLM were foremost in their minds.

I think authoritarianism is alive and well in Canada just as it is here.

As one raised Roman Catholic who lost his religion decades ago, I think it's a shame that it's come to this. Yes, Trudeau's government has become as extreme a regime as there is, a pity. At least some Canadian doctors have now spoken out.

Isn't the Grace Life Church one of those 'franchise' churches? I think I've seen a few here in Florida.

Venezuelan mayor marks homes of COVID patients with red symbol

A mayor in central Venezuela has begun placing red warning symbols on the homes of people with COVID-19 and also threatened to cut welfare handouts for those breaking quarantine...

"This indicates that there is a Covid case or a suspected Covid case, so the people are alert," he added...

Duque said benefits including food handouts and cooking gas could be cut if people did not comply with quarantine orders.

Wow! It seems counterproductive to cut somebody's food and cooking gas to force them to stay at home. That would drive them to needing to obtain food elsewhere (therefore, go in public).

Venezuela also does that to get people to vote for the ruling party.

started a thread about that before

see, once government is in charge of providing stuff, then they control people with that

Locking people in their homes for the flu, after much public evidence that lockdowns do more harm than good.

Sorry......but it was not ;the "flu"......... and the measures that CDA took helped to prevent the pandemic from getting totally out of control as it has in this country. By no means has any system worked perfectly...

For most people, SARS Cov-2 develop the same symptoms as flu.

the "symptoms" might be similar......but each virus has different implications.

Rationalize it however you must. The facts are that with hindsight we know that Covid is about as lethal as flu, perhaps a bit less.

The facts are that lockdowns have caused more harm than good.

The facts are that masks are fairly well useless.

The facts are that Canadian doctors know all this and have spoken out. Trudeau is just a tool of WEF.

Hindsight is always 20/20. The question is did the lockdowns make sense at the time they were implemented? It's clear the costs (ie. economy, suicide rates, postponed and canceled surgeries, etc.) far outweigh the benefits but we didn't know that at that time.

Yes, hindsight is always 20/20. That is why the current efforts by Trudeau to stand by and continue to implement failed policies corroborates the conspiracy angle. Is he just stupid, or is there more?

This church closing can only be done in Canada.

If it were done in the USA, it would be challenged in court. Unconstitutional, trampling on religious freedom, you have it.

Any reduced or ending of church attendance is only done in agreement by the church body with the Coronavirus shutdowns regulations.

It appears you've not been paying attention. Churches have been closed in many parts of the US. It happened in Florida, but soon the Governor said enough.

Albertas covid cases are through the roof again....over 1600 on Friday.....ICUs are filled....and apparently that P1 Brazil mutation is now a major issue. Premier Kenney has been somewhat hesitant to fully lockdown....(I guess it doesn't really work), and churches like this one are those superspreaders. The borders from neighboring BC&SK aren't closed, so that adds to the cases. Not a great scenario for 4.7 mln in the province.
