No...we don't. There are states where a background check isn't required for private sales and that is a big loop hole.
Can you name one mass shooter who got his gun that way? All states have laws making it illegal to put a gun in the hands of a prohibited person. Person to person sellers tend to not just sell to some random guy. Name ONE mass shooter. I suspect this post will go ignored.
That's mostly because it would be useless. With over 300 million guns in private hands, it would impossible to track. You can scroll back to find my stance on the subject though.

Translation - This image isn't full of Nazis or otherwise crazy white people, but my favorite progressive media has led me to believe that it should be. It makes me really uncomfortable to be confronted with the truth. I guess instead of accepting the truth, I'll just find a way to criticize the person responsible for confronting me with the truth. Sorry, you guys can't have it both ways. In many states, private sales are not required to be reported, so how would you be able to tell if this occurs? This is how guns get into the wrong hands, through private sales. Or do you think these shooters magically woke up one day with a firearm in hand??
