When the government is spending more than revenues all taxes for everyone need to be raised until revenues match the spending authorized by Congress.

Deficit spending is the enemy and must be defeated by raising taxes as well as reducing spending. Romney has not made any proposal to balance to the US budget if elected. If Romney were to present a balanced budget for 2014, which would be first budget year of the next presidential term of office he might get my attention but he hasn't and is proposing deficits just like Obama.

At least Obama is realistic knowing that taxes have to increase because spending cannot be reduced enough to balance the budget. Obama's only problem is that he's not proposing enough in tax increases even if draconian cuts in spending were made.

Really? 90%? Let me assure you that figure isn't even half that.

How most economies work is that the more you earn, the higer % you pay in taxes and to most people that makes sense.

A guy like Warren Buffet pay tax around the rate of 15% while his secretary pays a rate twice that. Of course the secretary should be outraged to be paying that ridiculous amount. If any one deserves a decrease in taxes, it would be the secretary and not the people who already have a sweet tax rate.

Let's go with your argument that class redistrbution is not right. But if the rich are paying lower rates and the poor are paying higer rates, that's redistribution of wealth too. From the poor to the rich. That's much worse isn't it?

Romney has said that he would lower taxes on the rich but never said he would do the same for the rest. If he were to say he would reduce taxes for everyone so that every one pays the same rate, then your argument would carry some weight. However, given the current debt, that is entirely impossible.

Romeny might not want any taxes increased on anyone but if he continues to increase defence spending and reducing revenue by decreasing taxes on the top 1%, his only alternative would be to increase taxes on the rest of the 99%.

All the charts I've seen says its around 90%.

Perhaps thats why the rich pay more in taxes...duh!

I'm all for lowering taxes on everyone without giving preference to your poor, and without over taxing the producers and job creators in the process.

The problem your having here is that the rich pay higher taxes than do the lower class citizens, and about half of the income earners pay little or no tax at all.

I didn't see where Romney had made a distinction between the rich and the rest when it came to discussing lowering taxes. Perhaps you could link us to such a quote from the Mittster. How is it impossible to lower the taxes on everyone? What does our current debt have to do with lowering taxes on everyone?

Wow, you're so economically and fiscally stupid that I'm having a hard time figuring out where to begin in debunking your silliness. That last sentence is so factually wrong that I'll leave it to you to do the heavy lifting to straighten it out. :frustrated:

So, most republicans want the only true conservative, Paul, to drop out, but want Obama light, Romney, and the man that wants government so big that he makes Obama look like Paul in comparison, Santorum?

The Republican party will have no credibility until the older, fake conservatives die off, and the younger, more libertarian conservatives take over.
