As a proud protestant Scotsman, I am committed to all things Scottish.

    This includes
    1) freedom for Scotland from English rule
    2) Scottish whiskey
    3) Our national dish, Haggis

I strongly believe that Haggis is a healthy, hearty and healing meal and should be made compulsory eating across the planet.

Do you agree with me that Haggis should be eaten by all?

For the record, I voted YES

I've voted yes too. It happens I travel to Scotland and I tried the Haggis. May be not always [you know healthy Mediterranean attitude about food ...], but it deserves to be eaten.

:oldman:I strongly recommend to all travelers passing through Scotland to try it.:knifefork:

I have eaten Haggis and it is delicious, almost as good as blood pudding. It is manna from the gods, aids digestion and promotes complete nutrition for almost all maladies of the body and the mind. Eating it should be an obligation of all worldwide, it should be fed to babies and intravenously administered to the comatose

No, not because it sounds gross, but because
    Calories - 287
    Calories from fat - 150
For every forkful you put in your mouth 52% of it is fat.

    A plate of Hershey bars.
    Calories - 210
    Calories from fat - 110
    Same 52%
Secondly, liver filters waste from your body, when you eat it, you are eating accumulated heavy metals.
Do you eat the hepatopancreas in lobster as well? I hope not. Its full of toxins.

I'll skip the Haggis but opt for the Wee Heavy instead. Just as nutritious and a lot more fun ;)

The problem is that the Haggis is currently being over-hunted. Controls should be put on the number of Haggis killed.

Thank you for your numerous thread views. But now is not the time to view, but to vote.

Rest assured, I will convey the poll results back to the Scottish Haggis Institute for Trade (aka S.H.I.T)

Sure, Id just be more worried about the toxins you just consumed than the plate of hershey bars. Ive processed samples for over 30 years, and I get to see whats in things, thats why I dont eat certain foods like shellfish. I know whats in them. The last thing I would ever eat is liver or any shellfish or bottom dwelling fish.

You are underestimating Italian stomach ... and our digestion capabilities ... or simply I'm developing a cancer, of course a lethal cancer ... but at the end ... it's not a great deal ... we've got one life ... let's live it!

I ate Haggis while in Edinburgh.

    It was absolutely disgusting.

And then I found out what Haggis actually was. And I was even more disgusted.

    Never Again.

Im with ya, just want to make sure I live it as long as possible. :) On the other hand isn't there a secluded town in Italy that has people that are completely free from heart disease even though they eat high fat content. Last I heard they were studying them.

Haggis is like a practical joke played on tourists.

I do find it ironic that someone who is yearning for freedom for his country wants to impose Haggis-eating upon the world.

I brought home canned Haggis. Caused me problems with US Customs. I told them it was "baked beans".

And here I thought nothing in a can could be worse than pork brains and gravy. Learn something new every day (and often it is unfortunate)

I usually agree with you. But I am highly disappointed that we are unable to agree on Haggis, which is the most important issue currently being discussed on PF.
