Never got a job on a personality test.

You got a problem with the tech world that has nothing to do with me.

My property wasnt accumulated by creating tech that kills jobs. But from sweat.

The treatment of vets coming home can not be imagined if you hear about it first hand repetitively.

If you know what a court martial is you f##### up. Has nothing to do with me.

I have witnessed the military myself and saw its purpose for the country.

Its true if somebody gets a felony they may have a tough time getting a job. Being violent to a point in getting one is not how one should protest.

I agree with one thing here. Character does mean more than money. I live in a truck as a truck driver. My life is about meditating and living free spirited. Much of my money goes to helping my family.

My brother came back from Viet Name saying, "You're not my brother, those guys in my squad were my brothers." My brother has had nothing but great jobs, promotions, high pay. I was a war protester, worked over unspeakably in police back rooms. (They use weapons on unarmed men, night-stick guys while hand-cuffed, shoot people in the back, etc., etc.) I don't need combat in a foreign war to know extremities of evil. None of my efforts, on the job, in college on GI Bill (Master of English) ever got me a decent job. Had to pay back student loans on slave wages. Huey Newton, Abby Hoffman, Mario Savio, Jerry Rubin - braver guys than I was never got a decent job, never reaped the fruits of their academic efforts. The government of my country was dishonest, lied to its people about the extent of civilian deaths in the Persian Gulf, just as it lied about civilian deaths in Viet Nam. The government of my country was the only one ever to nuclear weapons - on hundreds of thousands of noncombatants. Who is the greater patriot - the one who says, "My Country, Right or Wrong" or the protester who says, "Not My Country Wrong"? Who was more of a fascist, Geo. Bush with his lies about yellow-cake or ISIS, who we backed against Syria's Assad? Either way, neither Christianity nor Islam has been adhering to the Golden Rule, which both pretend to believe in.

Where in a job application does it ask you if you have been a war protestor?

You sound a bit delusional about why you havent gotten what you hoped for. If life is so bad why not investigate on how to transcend that? Rather than hate everything.

To all those who fear some kind of change from the founding principles, better realize that the loyalists were tared and feathered. Our current batch of leftist filth is the same kind of traitorous garbage that should get the boot and the night stick upside their heads.

The tech world has resulted in many people losing their jobs. True leadership would provide them with paid re-training so they could continue to support their families. But their problems have nothing to do with you.

Many people obtain property with jobs performed by the sweat of their brows. But if those jobs are not equally available to all on the basis of merit, if those jobs result in profits mainly hoarded by the owners/bosses, and not shared with workers, or if those jobs involve proliferated technology proven to be devastating to the planet's environment - these things have nothing to do with you.

Often in-debriefed vets coming home get jobs in law enforcement. UN-DEBRIEFED vets, inclined to do any heinous unspeakable thing they like to their fellow citizens protesting for the rights and freedoms sold-out government is ripping off from them. But this means nothing to you.

I had two professors in the military, one an Algebra professor Captain, the other a civilian English professor. The former would spout his anti-gay rhetoric against the latter without knowing anything about him. But this kind of bullying hate-speech doubtless means nothing to you.

If you have not been in protests, have never been arrested for doing so, do not know the methods used against arrested protesters, you do not - and likely will never - know what it means to take a risk out of empathy for your exploited, abused fellow man. If you have never risked everything fore a principle, and realize that doing so will make it impossible for you ever to support a family, not being able to do so will mean nothing to you.

We have had presidents do all manner of things against the rights and freedoms of the people they're sworn to represent.

LBH revved up an illegal war. Nixon sent his burglars into the DNC and stole an election. Reagan deregulated business. Clinton "reformed" - i.e., eliminated, welfare. Bush used the government to advance his oil business and start illegal wars. Obama bailed out corrupt monopolies. Now Trump wants everybody to hate aliens like Hitler wanted everybody to hate Jews. I suppose you must be supper happy about all that, too, eh? Well, I respect the people who are not happy to see a complete disconnect between the voters and their elected representatives - I respect the protesters. That's how things look to me.

You sound a bit naïve regarding what you risk when you stand up for rights and freedoms your (sold out) government has been continually down-sizing for you.

What exactly will they be able to acomplish? Either way their rioting is futile. We are only seeing the beginning of the police cracking down on these thugs. I'm just waiting for them to get the green light to go full out riot control. BTW, if you threaten me or my livelyhood then be prepared to be met with lethal force.

The left has never gotten their way, that is why their only recourse is to stand up to the riot police. The people have never gotten their way, because the elected representatives represent only the one-percent who financed their campaigns, not the voters their oaths require them to represent. Protesters have no recourse but to protest. People who wish to protect their rights and freedoms have no recourse but to protest.

I don't care if you are subsumed by the myths of the left (Howard Zinn? Please) I don't care if you protest. Part of your rights under our Constitution. I DO care when your protesting inconveniences ME and my life. Your shutting down a freeway, burning a car, looting and vandalizing a store produces in me a firm desire and support for my hired protectors, the police to give you a hickory shampoo.

I will cheer the people in uniform lustily if you are impeding me from my daily life. Make your point peacefully, without bothering me and I might listen. Make my life difficult and break the law in the process and you might find me helping the cops put your sorry ass on the ground.

Protesting is fine. It's when you start looting and burning is when the riot police comes out.

They very rarely over react, and only in the rarest of cases cause unneeded death.

And in this particular incident, which is what this thread is about, the use of force was absolutely justified. Only a person with an anti police agenda could pretend otherwise.

The disturbing trend is believing we are in a police state, simply because we are enforcing laws. Lolol

The systems itself is sick. Only the protesters are trying to, or can, do something about it.

Though we long have known the selller
    a to-be-bewared-of feller,
    we deregulate his fraud
    both domestic and abroad -
    Oh fetch a doctor quick,
    America is sick!

Again it's legal each doctor pill
may be hawked around, and a litany
of bad side-effects - it could wrack or kill -
from the tube now three times hourly
all healthy TV fans' ears must fill -
    But America's a democracy
so we know it must be the people's will.

    In technology's ascendency
    monopolizing's tendency
    runs toward stealing privacy
    and our rights to property.
    Oh fetch a doctor quick,
    America is sick.

But elected reps pass the people's bill
    so too-big-to-fail grows A, T and T,
who the people's secrets promptly spill
    to the NSA, Orwelleanly -
    it's security as overkill.
    But America's a democracy
so we know it must be the people's will.

    It's shows compiling videos
that we submit choos cheap-shot blows
as what we favor - it's not we
    there mirrored in indignity.
    Oh fetch a doctor quick
    America is sick.

But a kid gazing o'er his windowsill
may a queue of citizens one day see
for issues vote - not rep's, whose skill
    proverbial's taking bribery -
    when America's a democracy
and we know what must be the people's will.

No, you talked about burning down businesses and I made an analogy to torching your neighbors. You clearly cannot reason or discern very well. You should try working on that.

Scripture has been used to kill as many people as propaganda. We made a god out of Science, and look what Science has done to the Earth. Read William Blake on Science. There are three kinds of lies: Lies, damned lies, and statistics. "...a nation of the people, by the people and for the people shall not perish from this Earth." - Lincoln.

They could vote. Something I suspect very few of those protesters did. That's how Trump's supporters got the world's attention isn't it? Trump's supporters didn't block traffic instead they went to the polls and so now they get to make the rules.

The virulence of the protesters is directly proportional to their feeling of futility. Their feeling of futility is directly proportional to the degree to which the capitalist establishment ignores, or seeks to limit or eliminate our rights and freedoms. The one-percent, the business hierarchy, the Democrat and Republican presidents, the riot police, the duly constituted authorities have proven they have no respect for the will, the liberties, the opinions, the wellbeing or the viewpoint of the citizens of this country. The American people have a limit to their patience, their forbearance. Is this surprising?

Businesses? You mean like Enron, Blackwater? Funny anyone would object to their being shut down.

I think you are mistaken in what these rioters deem a higher priority. If you loot businesses you get free stuff, if you loot government installations you get a water cooler and much heavier penalties for destruction of government property.

In short you regard these rioters as some sort of moral driven mob, whereas I view them as greedy, opportunistic cowards.

    Perception is key.

What is the purpose of police precincts being issued military vehicles that are the equivalent of tanks by the pentagon, to any department that asks for one? For what possible purpose could a precinct have need for an armored personnel carrier, and grenade launchers?

I could pick anything apart if i wanted to. So what. There is good and bad in everything. That is life. Letting it rule over you in hatred does nothing for nobody.

Nothing wrong with protesting and mentioning what you dont like. But its always going to do more harm than good if it becomes violent and down right hateful.

The problem is not in the world. The problem is how one deals with it.

Trump requires his agencies "eliminate 2 regulations for every 1 they pass." Reagan, now Trump, were/are so sure of their irreproachable honor that they do not need to adhere to the rule of law. Just the usual lies, though.

Because criminals and domestic terrorists use machine guns and explosives. Why do you believe them having the equipment to protect themselves and us is a bad thing?

    - - - Updated - - -

Are you implying that no death is needed? Because you would be wrong lol.

It's those types of comments that make people chuckle these days.

First and foremost. Since you have made the above claim, the burden of proof is on you to conclusively prove that there are indeed criminals and terrorists within the united states, who have access to machine guns, and are indeed using them and explosive devices against police officers, in a way that would absolutely necessitate the acquisition and use of armored personnel carriers.

Second, police officers are not military personnel. The two have entirely different duties from one another, and different training for fulfilling those duties.

Third, the issue is not the use of military vehicles for extraordinary circumstances. Rather it is when those military vehicles are deployed for the purpose of dealing with everyday, mundane events that do not require such a dramatic show of force.
