Those disclaimers appear on loop (surgical) masks which are primarily meant to protect other people from the wearer's emissions. They do afford some degree of protection for the wearer too, being a barrier, but as they're loose fitting the virus can still enter through the gaps at the sides, top and bottom. So, manufacturers have no choice but to say that they can't protect you from coronavirus, because it's still possible. Naturally, litigation (as well as honesty) will be a consideration here.
