Today's Marxism is a form of religion. The adherents seem to believe it no matter how many empirical examples of its failures exist. Kind of like the "global warming" hoaxers. No matter how much empirical experience comes out they will believe in computer projections fueled by fabricated data to the end. All humans need some form of religion. It seems today those who denigrate the traditional forms fool themselves into believing that their religion is based on science and reason while they are denying the evidence that it is not.
