The point that some Jewish activists are publicly Anti-Gun is actually irrelevant unless your point is also one of anti-Semitism, why ? Because many Jews range from Atheists, to Agnostics, non Religious, from those that are in touch with their Heritage and those that are not, There are many Jews that are Pro Gun, only those get very little Media time.

I am Jewish and Pro Gun, however, you will probably never see any of my views anywhere else other than this forum.

So to cast a complete group of People, Jews, as being part of some conspiracy based on the acts of a vocal and visible few is disengenuous and Bigoted.

 

Given the history of the middle of the last century, I find this a bit delusional.

 

Trump has been called an honorary Jew (just like Bill Clinton was an honorary black). He's very pro-Israel. He has a history of making generous donations to Jewish charities. Two of his children have married Jews. His daughter, Ivanka, converted to Judaism. Many of his close friends and business partners are Jews. He sees radical Islam as the enemy just as many Jews do. But he doesn't seem very anti-gun.

 

Perhaps he has actually researched how restrictions on firearms were used to more easily facilitate the imprisonment and murder of millions of jewish individuals.

 

That because just because if you are Jewish, or pro Israel, it doesn't mean that you are pro gun, nor does it mean you are anti gun.
Did we not learn anything about the media and opinion writers after this past election?

 

It's the jewish professor in my OP, Adam Winkler, who made this a race issue by singling out white people and insulting them by claiming that they're ignorant and uneducated hicks/rednecks (although he used the fancy word "rural").

80% of jews identify with the Democrat party. The democrat party is the party of gun control. It makes sense that Jews who are usually left-wingers would be active in a leftwing political movement such as disarming honest American citizens. There are other reasons for this including

1) many Jews come from countries where Jews could not own firearms. They see firearms as something their former oppressors own and they see guns as a form of power they are not well skilled in using. Thus they want to limit gun ownership

2) along the same lines-they see guns as a form of power that can overcome the skills that come from being well educated and connected with government. They see guns as a threat to the type of power they tend to use

3) they see gun owners as part of a culture that they find hostile.

 

I'm sorry, Turtledude, but that's not a very good argument because so many of these anti-gun jews also support Israel's horrifying war crimes against Palestinians. Hmmmm ... Given Jewish demographics in the U.S., it's much more reasonable to conclude their voting patterns don't vary much from other local voter demographics in the areas where the majority live by any more than few percentage points. Nothing particularly 'Jewish' about that. Nearly the same for college educated versus high school or less as well, I would guess. Only 13% of New York City voters identify as Republicans, for instance.

Points 2 and 3 are just weird, and not worth commenting on, hopefully these are just speculative positions and not your real beliefs? Any guesses on what leans on gun control Jews in Texas or anywhere else in the western states outside of Cali or Oregon or Washington would be? All of the Jews I know personally are gun owners and hunters here.

I know pro-gun Jews and anti-gun Jews. The Jewish politicians that tend to push gun control are from the same districts where gun control is popular politically, even amongst non-Jews.

I oppose gun control in all its forms, but don't blame Jews for it. I blame the individuals who support it, regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or nation of origin.
