Toaster-ovens cook awesome steaks. Not quite as good as charcoal-grilled, but almost, and given the prep time is cut by at least 2/3, its hard to beat. My toaster-oven is a ~$30 B&D. I've eaten steak for dinner every night since I've bought it. Side note: Chuck Flat Iron Steaks are the best cut for the money, imo. Very affordable, just as good as any pricey cut I've ever had at a high dollar restaurant.
The unit I bought has a drip tray that slides in underneath the grill insert. When the steaks come out, so does the grill and tray, which go straight into the sink to get rinsed. So, cleanup is about a minute
wife broils burgers in ours, and i'm quite amazed that there hasn't been a grease fire from the spatter onto the red/orange hot electrodes/elements...
yeah, thats what broil means... tight quarters yet grease don't ignite... did i mention we prefer 70/30 chopmeat...
