I'm just curious as to what some of the theories that are applied when looking at the administrative aspect of public education. What models are used and what are the negatives and positives associated with them. Do they allow teachers flexibillity or do they hinder the teaching process?

I am also curious to know if the public administration theories used are similar or based of business theories, to what extent, and if they are, the success rate you feel they have achieved.

In the real world of trainging and education there is a hands on competency model, same like the buisness world. There is instruction, and performance based evaluation.

This IMO is the best form of training and testing. They use these methods in vocational and tech type environments. It give the student experience as well.

Trouble with US public schools is they focus on sending kids off to college to pay more money for education. When in fact, a college degree is just a liability of debt for those who do not have the cash for it. IF the USA public schools would focus more on individual vocational and technical areas they would have the population to meet the needs of the USA industrial and manufacturing world.

You see, people who run the public schools view labor jobs as inferior to professional jobs. But fact is the labor jobs today in the 21st century require very intelligent highly skilled workers. These wrokers need to be trained for sevral years before they can operate and manage some of the equipment just like a MD needs many years of training to just practice medicine.

If the USA want's to compete with other countries to be the best, the USA needs to look at how Germany, France, China, and South Korea train their labor force to be the world's best.

Sure it is nice to haggle and fester about idologies and concepts, but untill it is put to the test and made productive, it is worth SQUAT. Why? because no matter how much thought, time, and money is wasted on new concepts and ideas, it is just that a waste that amounts to nothing.
