Remember that it wasn't Obama who ordered Navy SEAL's to go into Pakistan but Admiral McRaven.
Obama just signed of that the U.S. military could conduct a military operation in a sovereign nation which is required by law.

President Obama was playing golf at the time and wasn't even notified that the operation was taking place until U.S. Army MH-60's had entered Pakistan air space.

For the layman, if the mission failed, Admiral McRaven and Navy SEAL's would take 100% of the blame.

FYI:
Months leading up to the mission, Navy SEAL's were ordered to stand down at least twice and possibly three times by the Obama White House.
Why ? Because the Obama White House opposed the mission including VP Biden and Valerie Jarrett who actually wore the pants in the Obama White House and was the one who convinced Obama to back down and issue the stand down orders.

This is when Obama threw everything in CIA Director's lap Leon Panetta lap who then threw it in Admiral McRaven's lap completely as usual with the Obama administration ignoring the military chain of command.

Even before the Navy SEAL's were debriefed and "after action reports"were written up Obama went on television ignoringthe chain of command as usual and politicized the death of Osama bin Laden.

BTW: It was Obama who ordered that Bin Laden be given a Muslim funeral at sea.

If the Referendum could be overseen by the United Nations, he has a deal. I do believe in self-determination for the Ukrainian people. And that is not for the EU(which sees Ukraine as no less of a colony than the Russians,) or for Russia to decide.

It's my opinion that we shouldn't be involved but for EU-plutocrats who need Ukraine's wealth. They'll scream. Make no mistake, this is not about freedom, it's about which side Ukraine wants to be in serfdom to: The EU or Russia.

 

I think the fact that Russia has been gaslighting and propagandizing the hell out of those people in order to achieve this kind of a result muddies the matter a little.

 

Thing is, this is exactly like Poland, 1939. Only in this case, instead of Germany/Russia dividing Poland, it's Russia/EU fighting over economic possession of Ukraine. It's also why America should have no dog in this fight. Ukraine doesn't have much of an independent future between the blocs of European power, and that's always been true for the smaller European countries.

When the EU decided economic colonalism, the US lost its ally right there, pre-Donald Trump. Europe has gone back to its tried and true old ways.

 

I don't think that's a fair assessment of the situation. Ukraine is not in the EU, so how can this be the EU fighting for economic possession of it? It is a matter of Ukrainain national sovereignty and the international community respecting that.
